Pat Boone was quite a prolific and versatile singer.From his first song to chart in 1955 to 1969 he landed 60 songs on the pop chart,his 61st and last song to chart was in 2002.Boone had 30 albums between 1956 and 1962.Including regular albums, soundtracks ~ Christmas ~ Gospel ~ and greatest hits.The set covers eight of Boone's original early albums between 1956 and 1958.Here's some old fashioned R&R, but most tracks are easy listening ballads.The Albums Here Are ~1. Anyone who throws away Boone's talent as the White Bucks antidote to rock n roll might be surprised by these albums. The Irving Berlin lp, for example, is very close to what Sinatra, and much later Linda Ronstadt and Rod Stewart did with their torch and classic albums. These lps place Pat Boone where history may keep him - as an upbeat interpreter of standards and love songs.

I was extremely pleased with the audio quality of these CDs considering that the recordings were all made over 50 years ago. That said, it would have been a far more attractive set had it contained a booklet or liner notes of any kind. Ideally, I would have loved to see mini reproductions of the original cover art of these early LPs.Only the song listings appear on the back cover of this issue. It was fine for a budget issue but collectors such as myself would have been willing to pay a little more for more appealing packaging.

The transfer quality isn't quite as high as on "Pat's 40 Big Ones," or "Sugar Moon," but it's close enough. One or two of its tracks even surpassed those on the other collections. Overall, the sound is uniformly excellent, with no pops, hisses, or other distortions. As to the music ... it's Pat Boone! I guess you either love him or hate him. I rank him above Sinatra on ballads (no one ever had a silkier voice) and just over Elvis on rock. The 8 albums include most of his early hits, as well as his lesser known (but equally enjoyable) album tracks. At under $10, it's a steal.

A great price for 4 discs -- and the sound quality is excellent, faithfully reproducing the original recordings. The selection and delivery of the songs is varied, ranging from some really silly and corny stuff through some of the really fine stuff Pat Boone recorded throughout his long career.If you like Pat Boone, this collection will be a revelation and a lot of fun. But for his big, well-known popular hits, most of them are not here. For that you'll have to get one of his "greatest hits" collections.

I loved the Sissell album. The last albumin the Pat Boone collection wasn't alll Pat Boone singing, and was a little disappointing.

With the many rerecorded versions of Pat Boone songs it is difficult to ascertain which is which. I am suspicious of the claim that these are the original hit recordings unless different versions were released in other countries. Otherwise this is not a bad CD but not the versions I was looking for unfortunately.

T have so may Pat Boone's first albums on one one box set it a great deal , quality was greatand the price excellent

Easy listening and a good cd.

自分にとって、パット・ブーンとは美しい曲を美しい声で歌ってくれるムード・ヴォーカル的なイメージの人でした。でもこのCD-BOXを聴くと、過去にはロック調の曲にチャレンジしたりしてたことがわかって、へえ～と思いました。あの美しいヴォーカル路線にたどり着くまでには、それなりに色々な努力をしていたんだなあ。はじめて知りました。

pat booneのデビュー当時のアルバムがまとめて聞けます。最初のpat booneは当時出現したロックンロール路線で売ろうとしたのですかね。なんか品行方正な学生がロックンロールしている感じでほほえましいです。最後の曲i'll be homeでこれだとブレイクした様がよくわかります。2枚目のhowdyはなかなか聞きごたえがあります。捨て曲がないですね。3枚目のpatではまたまたロックンロールしてます。4枚目のhymns we loveは敬虔なクリスチャンで有名なpatのhymn集です。聞く前はちょっとと思いましたが、これがいい！肩ひじ張ったところがなくクルーナーの持ち味と人柄で聞かせます。5枚目のgreatest hitsはもちろんいうことなしです。6枚目sings irving berlinはスタンダードをどうこなすか楽しみな１枚。スタンダードシンガーとしての実力にうなります。7枚目april loveは映画のサントラです。（この手のアルバムはやや苦手）、最後のstardustもポピュラースタンダードオンパレードで聞きごたえ十分です。音も問題ありませんでした。パート２がでるようですので今から楽しみです。
