TAMASHII NATIONS Bandai Super Robot Chogokin Getter-1 "Getter Robo Action Figure

A good but not quite great offering from SRC. Go Nagai's pot bellied super robot. Getter 1. The figure is excellent, but not without a few flaws. Paint and coloring is superb. The trans green honeycomb over silver for the getter energy effects are excellent. Much better than the traditional green paint. Sculpting is ok. The lower torso where it meets the hips is too rounded. This results in some strange gaps, while at the same time giving the robot a beer belly look. The actual robot should be straight but thick. Barrel shaped. Not like a fat guy in a small swimsuit. Accessories are decent. A good assortment of hands. A pair of Getter Tomahawks. His tattered red cape. A replacement belly with Getter Beam and a plug in effects part for the beam. The cape and forearms use the universal connector system found on the newer SRC's, so Getter 1 can swap parts with the Mazinger bros and a few others. And use their effects parts. Articulation is great for an action figure, but just mediocre compared to some other SRC's. The hips in particular are strange to me. (I may just need to play with them more). Metal content is light, but it doesn't bother me much as the figure is so superbly finished. I think I prefer this version to my older SOC. This guy feels more alive.

I had high hopes for this figure. I have been waiting for a getter-1 figure in this line, And I was excited to finally get one. But the one I just got today had a defective hip, which caused the figure's right leg to be way too loose for my tastes. This was one of the most disappointing things I've gotten from SRC, along with GaoGaiGar which suffered the same problem.

I love this figure; especially because this is the OAV version, not the standard Getter robot form the main show.It is probably the most well known robot with a belly; beside Tetsujin 28, I don't recall other robot with a sort of "obese" look. It reminds me a kinder surprise, with this egg-shaped body.Articulations are good; as far as it goes for the top part of the body. The bottom part is really disappointing; with limited mobility that does not allow you to change much the pose for the leg. Forget about split or even forward/backward kick. The range is limited due to the design of the hips; you can pull the joint to get a bit more of range, but the hips are basically limiting the movement, rubbing with the upper part of the leg.You can still get some nice pose, but it is sad that you can't take advantage of the full range of motion; that you may have with other SRC figures.Overall, quality is high; the figure feels heavy and the paint is top notch; vibrant and metallic, you would not be able to distinguish the metal parts from the plastic parts. I have also the SOC version of this figure, and the difference is not that great. IT loose against a Sentinel, but between the SRC and the SOC, I would not think twice to take this over the SOC.The accessory included are the signature tomahawk, the cape and the usual set of hands. It also include the getter beam gimmig, which result in swap of the tummy panel with another one that has the beam barrel. you can either leave the barrel with the green dot (to simulate when the beam is about to be fired), or remove it and attach the included effect part.The cape is nice, although it add balance issues when lifting it up, and the joint is not that strong; so in the long run it may give issues. Although I had no issues in dynamic poses on the base. The cape just go up and down; keep it in mind, and it is made of hard plastic (but nicely sculpted).Overall a great figure; beside the hips problem, it is another top notch figure from the SRC line

Prodotto come da illustrazione. Davvero bella raffigurazione del mitico Getter 1 da parte della Bandai, linea Super Robot Chogokin (SRC): alto circa 14 cm, materiali Plastica e Metallo (che gli danno anche un certo peso), ottime le articolazioni e la possibilità di pose, come anche la stabilità in piedi, diversi gli accessori in dotazione (tre paia di mani aggiuntive, due tomahawk, mantello, un effetto che simula l’emissione del raggio getter). Forse una piccola pecca è la scelta di fare il mantello completamente rigido (è presente comunque un'articolazione alla base che gli consente di alzarsi/abbassarsi leggermente). Sicuramente è più un oggetto da collezione che un giocattolo vero e prorpio.Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo (circa 45 €), ottimi anche i tempi di consegna e l'imballaggio (davvero complimenti al venditore "teate cash & carry").
