Fits nicely
O-ring Initially appeared to be too big, but was able to easily be installed in my 8 year old Hayward pump. it solved my problem wit air getting in the system and the lid opened easier.

sent item that did not fit and now wont return after 1 week will not order from these guys again

WRONG PART IN SEALED BAG.
This is not an SPX4000S. It doesn't fit early or late Hayward pumps. I have them both. Whatever Hayward put in the bag; it is not the correct O-ring. It is fully 2 inches or more greater in diameter.Apparently manufacturers don't have time to read these reviews or Amazon doesn't contact them.

Old model
This part is for a newer model. There was no indication at Amazon of alternate models. However, when I went to return it, Amazon simply credited my account and did not need the part returned. So ... some bad, some good, but overall a waste of everybody's time.

This O-ring does not fit the 2006-2007 Northstar pump stainer cover. It is too thick. Unfortunately, I had a death in the family which took me away so I missed the time frame to return the product.
