Eagle Eye Magellan Apollo Gold Sunglasses - Black Frame
Wow !! Best pair of sunglasses I have ever put on. Just blows away my Bobsters and RayBans.I rate sunglasses by how good they function while riding my motorcycle - in the wind, into the sun, quickly alternating sun and shadow when riding along tree lines, and vibration. The first thing I notice in taking them out of their case is how light they are.The second thing I notice is how well they fit. Unlike my Bobsters, which fit so tight they give me a headache, these wrap around my head and seem to disappear - snug, secure, but not at all tight or binding. The third thing I notice is the view - it is panoramic - no blind spots at all, very bright with absolurely no hint of blinding looking into the sun, and detail that was hard to see with out them. I also notice there is no distortion as a turn my head from side to side. These sunglasses have wrap-around right. On my bike now, and into the wind - I notice that no wind is blowing behind the glasses to dry out my eyes or bring in dust like the RayBans do, yet enough breeze so I don't sweat under the glass like my Bobsters do.My other sun glasses vibrate when I ride which greatly reduces the acuity of what I'm trying to see, and induces insecurity in trying to spot danger from the traffic around me. Not so with these glasses - detail is greatly increased, clear, and stable. I can see so much better I can actually sense myself relaxing with much more confidence in staying clear of morons in cars and trucks yakking on their cell phones or texting. The next thing I test is riding into the sun low on the horizon. All my other sunglasses suffer severe glare when riding into the sun - so much so that I have to shade the glass with my hand to eliminate the glare. With the Eagle Eyes the glare is all but eliminated, and I don't need to shade the glass with hand. I still don't like riding into a rising or setting sun, but now I'm not totally blinded by it.The next thing I noticed is important to me, but maybe not to anyone else - I have very long eyelashes, the envy of my wife and daughters and every woman I ever met. But my eyelashes rub against the lenses of every sunglasses I have ever worn before, leaving a smudge that interferes with the view through the lenses, and the longer I ride, the worse it gets. Not so with the Eagle Eyes - I can feel muy eye lashes rubing against the leses as I blink, but there is no smudge left, thanks to the smudge-resistant coating. The final advantage that is important to me is that these sunglasses stay in place despite the wind buffeting and engine vibrations coursing through my body - they do not slide down my nose like the other glasses do.Finally, I chose Amazon over eBay because both the hard and soft case was included, and because it was the only one offering the black frames on the Magellan series.

Thought it would be better
So I gave this three stars because it did not meet my expectations. My reason for purchasing these sunglasses was to wear them while driving for its advertised polarization and reflective coating. One star was removed due to the sunglasses lack of reflection of the sun's light/rays. When the sun is in your field of view it can still hurt your eyes and I find myself still having to lower the car's sun visor to assist the sunglasses in reflecting the sun's light. Another star was removed due to the yellow hue the sunglasses produce. Before purchasing I was aware of the yellow hue (and okay with it) the sunglasses produce by seeing the commercial and reading other reviews however, I did not expect it to have a negative impact on my experience with the sunglasses. The yellow hue does make things brighter when compared to sunglasses that dim the brightness but, by doing so creates all objects in view to be somewhat blended together. Since objects cannot be differentiated by color now, they can only be differentiated by texture which makes it difficult. The sunglasses basically suck out all the color in the environment and when you go to remove them and see the world with your naked eye, it takes a minute or two for your eyes to adjust. This adjustment sometimes have led to a small headache due to the bombardment of color. If the price of the sunglasses was higher then what I got it for ($60) then I would have removed another star but, because they are cheap when compared to other polarized sunglasses I cannot be to mad. Although, If I had a chance to purchase these sunglasses again or another pair I would probably go with another pair even if it costs more.

I always like the Eagle Eye sunglasses
I always like the Eagle Eye sunglasses. They really relax my eyes and help see much better with bright sunlight. Even at dawn and dust they help. With any lower light you need the other, much lighter colored glasses they also sell.I big minus was that I lost them after 2 month... Ok no blame on the product for that! The only reason I am giving 4 rather than 5 stars is that even when taking really good care they scuff and scratch easily. It has been like that since I bought my first pair many years ago.

NOT Made in the USA! China.
False advertising. Ear pieces were not debured and they scratched my scalp when putting on. Didn't fit quite right. Those were clues to see where they were made. China.

Happy Husband
I have had a pair of eagle eyes for years, but my eyes require prescription sunglasses, so I had stuck them in a drawer. After my husbands 1st eye cataract surgery with one good eye and one bad he has been wearing glasses with one lens. Works great inside, but he goes outside and his one lens darkens. Vanity forced him to seek sunglasses. I had him try my eagle eyes. He loved them, but not the feminine style, (I thought the style looked ok), but told him we’d check online. He selected a style and my prime shipping made Amazon the place to purchase. He loves them. After his second eye surgery he will only need readers, so these will be great for all outdoor activities

My third (and favorite) pair of Eagle Eyes
This is my third pair of Eagle Eyes sunglasses, as the other two were either badly scratched or broken over the years. My last pair had a fully polycarbonate frame, looked great, and were light-weight. However, the Magellan Apollos have already gotten several compliments for both style and performance. The lens coating technology is upgraded from my last pair (2010 or so), and I can see a difference with the anti-glare coating. Also, the dual scratch-resistant coating makes the lens feel more durable and more slick - as though it were coated with RainX. The frame looks and feels like it's well-built from quality materials, but isn't too heavy.I have really enjoyed the superior performance of my Eagle Eyes sunglasses over the years, and definitely couldn't go back to the standard "blackout" lenses. If you like the aviator style, then these are probably the best they make!
