Packaging flimsy cardboard-Raquel. Although they DO make an effort at presentation with a foil type bag which can be reinserted into the box once opened. The marrons themselves were stale with an unpleasant taste of cheap vanilla syrup. So disappointing. Nowhere near the amazing confection I’ve had from other companies. At almost $30 for ten chestnuts, they fell FAR short. Bought them specifically as a Gluten Free holiday gift. I was embarrassed by the poor quality & staleness.

A fabulous treat! Having been introduced to candied chestnuts in France, I’m so happy to have a source for them at home. A Christmas treat, I savor them one at a time. Perfect crunch and creaminess with lovely mild chestnut flavor.

We saw these mentioned in a movie and had never tried them, so we bought them. They are not something my husband or I enjoyed. When I first opened the box, I thought they had melted all over, but then I realized they are very sticky and sugary. The size is good and they were not dry at all. Taste-wise, the chestnut flavor is very mild and tasted like figs. Sugar content is high and biting into one you don't get a smooth experience, it's gritty. It's like a jelled chestnut. As stated, we've never had them, don't know if this is what they would taste like in the country of origin. We're going to give some to friends who have also traveled overseas to get their reaction. We never saw these in Italy while there a couple years ago, unfortunately. They come in a great-looking box, sealed in foil, and then are separated in a plastic holder with lid.

I would definitely buy this product again! The only thing that would have made it better (to me) is if it had been enfused with a little brandy, as some Marrons are, mainly from France. I cannot seem to locate them anymore, so decided to try this brand, as it was about half the price of the other options. It did not disappoint in the least, and was a very good buy! I thought I would give away one box and keep the other for myself, but managed to easily eat them all. I do not think you will be disappointed in this product, especially considering the reasonable price.
