Excellent for beginners and Intermediate players.
I love anything from Alton. This book was very good. Short and to the point about major things you need to know.I have purchased all of Alton's other books and starting to read them now.. I would also suggest signing up for his online courses.. You can get a monthly subscription and it's VERY affordable compared to other poker training sites.. Just search his full name or search for microgrinders.I also wanted books that go into detail on how to use a Poker HUD and his books do that..Well done Alton..

20$ Into 1,200 $
I play online poker on my phone with Global poker, so I don’t have access to downloading the HUD program as stated in the book, but the book still gives a lot of good tips and how not to be a bad player, I still turned 20$ into 1200 in the matter of days after reading.

EXCELLENT Poker Training
Another outstanding poker training work from Alton Hardin. He presents from soup to nuts how to play online poker. Not just a primer for the newbie but an education in how to play for even the experienced. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of HUD's, tracking programs, etc. without knowing how to properly utilize these in game play. Opponents are using these methods against you so you need to be versed in how best to utilize the available resources. I have bought Alton's materials for the last three months and have learned more in that time period than I did the prior two years. I had my mind muddled with so many concepts that I could not just sit down and play cohesively. Alton has brought all of the elements of poker together for me making my play flow rather than have knee-jerk reactions. I am enjoying playing much more. His video series that is a companion to this book is excellent. Go to [...] for the video course - Alton does extensive live play and hand replay lessons that are invaluable to bringing together the implementation of his teachings. ALL of his video courses are just outstanding. I am VERY judicious with my time and training budget and Alton's courses and books are the BEST poker investment I have found.

A proverbial Hook-Shot
This book from a basic understanding teaches you to utilize your HUD.If you have not picked up a copy of Tracker 4 (Poker Tracker) I would highly recommend it. This book by Alton teaches you all the fundamentals of reading players at the table, analyzing hands, and even gives you all the most common scenarios you will playing at the table to guide you through using HUD.Overall, I would highly recommend this book to serious and aspiring semi-or-full professional online grinders who really want to beat the games, or make a nice side income; Alton does a really good job at teaching all the easiest things to master, the rest is trying them out for yourself and maybe actually purchasing your own HUD, which I agree is a highly profitable and a plus EV decision. The best decision you can make in competitive, online poker. And I'll say it again, Alton's website is a great place to become familiar with more advanced tactics and strategies in poker, for micro-stakes and beyond; consider it like training with a proverbial hook-shot in the poker world.

Very Basic
I have been playing for awhile and little in this book was new to me. But for anyone who is considering signing up to play the micros online--I recommend that you read this book first, even if you have other poker experience. The writer asks that reviewers make recommendations: I wish he had gone more in depth on using Poker Tracker to analyze hands/find leaks from Ignition/Bovada hand histories. I didn't know Poker Tracker could be used with Ignition hand histories. The writer has a YouTube channel that I am subbed to that I find worthwhile. He also has a site that is worthwhile. On YouTube he has videos of some of his sessions and I'd say he is a competent micro/low stakes player. Put it this way: I wouldn't want to sit at a table with 5 clones of this guy--which means I think he is better than average and is very disciplined at the table, and it is apparent he has studied the game.If you have been playing micros for awhile, I think you would get more out of watching some of his sessions than from this book. If you are brand new to the micros, get this book and check out his site. There is one big name in microstakes in print and on YouTube who plays at the high end of micros. This writer seems to focus more on the lower end, and I believe he is genuinely interested in helping his readers and subscribers. The writing style of this book is much better than the average poker book, and it is a quick read.(Regarding my rating--for me this book today is worth 2 stars. However, if I had gotten this book when I first signed up for the micros it would have been 3.5 to 4 stars, and I would definitely have gotten my money's worth--no doubt. I would also suggest to the writer that he be more specific about who this book is aimed for so that more advanced players won't buy it and give it a bad review. By the time somebody has been playing in the micros for 6 months, she or he should already know most everything presented here.)

Great book, good value
Very well explained. This book is great for both beginners and intermediate level players. I have been playing poker for a long time, I wanted a book to explain basics on HUD and online poker tracking. I am always afraid that a poker book would be 'too' basic and really target the person who never played before. But this book was great and gave me great tips on understanding the value of HUD and how to use it.

Great for the poker library
Again Alton provides useful information in a easy to understand way. I have taken 2 of his courses and on my third, this book is a great addition.

Totalmente recomendable !!

The only thing I dislike about this book is that Alton didn't get into ...
The only thing I dislike about this book is that Alton didn't get into depth on the interesting and vital nuggets of information mentioned throughout the read.If you have already been at the poker scene for a little while and have some books/videos/trackers/healthy # of lifetime hands/etc, don't be surprised if this book (or tablet shall I say, since it lacks depth) seems more like a review journal of mostly basic stuff that you already know (or should know)I personally enjoyed this book even though it hardly taught me anything knew. I will admit however that I took some wisdom with me when I read the Table Selection part. That alone has already payed for itself so yeah, do recommend this makes it to your book collection. Cheers.

Honest book. The author says that right from the start that it is aimed a beginners and micro stakes online players.
That kind of defines the target audience. If you are new to online poker and want to get some heads-up info about what is different from live play, or if you just lost your first $50 deposit online and are curious about what happened to you - this is the right book. The list of commonly used statistical KPIs and the - very raw - characterization of player types based on these KPIs is an ok value.I also like the free book and free online course that comes with the book. Now to my point:Online poker today is brutal. New players are like deer being gunned down by hunters with nicht vision goggles and machine guns.If you want to have some fun playing anyway, this book gives you a chance to level the arms race. Obviously, the tracker tools and the online courses will cost some additional money - but so does a set of golf clubs and the pro lessons required before you get your proficience certification and can play a round.
