Johnson Brothers Friendly Village 20-Piece Dinnerware Set, Multicolor, 10.5

My dishes arrived today and I am so happy with them!! The packaging was fantastic, not one broken dish. All of the dishes have consistent colors; brown with nice light blues, greens, yellows and pinks. The transfers line up nicely. The quality of each piece is 5 star. While these may now be made in China and not the “originals”, they are still very beautiful and perfect for display and durable enough for everyday use. I have wanted these dishes for over 10 years, so glad I splurged and bought two 20 piece sets! These will be my fall/winter dishes and my sets of Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles will be for spring/summer. Buy them, you won’t be disappointed!!

I bought this set to supplement the 8 piece settings I already had. They were packed very well, and arrived with no broken dishes and no chips. They were packed so well I had to unpack them systematically to get them out. The finish on them is perfect, no bubbles. And even though they say microwave safe on the back, they do not specifically say made in China. The only thing different about the soup bowl from the one made years ago is the extended handle on the older bowls. But that was changed years ago. The original set I have dates back before the 1970's.

Great delivery time. Dish set is ok. I purchased a service for 4 last year at Macys. And this year I wanted to serve with them for thanksgiving so I decided to purchase another set from Amazon. And there is a difference between the too. Macy's dishes have better color and they're all the same size Amazon set is dulled color and the bowls and saucers are different sizes. But overall I'm happy. And nothing was broken.

This is a pattern I have always wanted but never purchased then one day I decided to just do it. So I ordered a service for twelve with all the serving pieces. I think the only complaint that I have read is that the color is muted in some of the pieces but since I didn't have this growing up I can't make the comparison. The winter "snowing" dinner plates are just a slight bit less color than the rest of the pieces but I don't care, I love them anyway. I just ordered some other dinner plates that are different seasons, not just winter, so I can use the snowing dinner plate for fall and winter and the other plates that reflect other seasons all year. Kind of nice that I don't have to save them for Christmas.

The China itself is absolutely beautiful; however, in the shipping, my first plate was broken, and I had to throw it away. It was probably due to UPS or Fed Ex throwing it around.

This set is beautiful but poorly packaged and arrived broken. When we sent for a replacement, an entirely different pattern was sent, so now we do not have the correct set and have to return the incorrect set as well.

My daughter loves these as her gift!! But just be prepared, a few of them did arrive broken .

This timeless pattern has been well produced and looks elegant for holiday tables capes. Great customer service and quality of China.
