This can't be the end! I'll miss those bears so much!
This story completes the ark of six books that began with Seekers, Book 1 (The Quest Begins). Over the course of these books we have come to know and love these four bears: Toklo the grizzly, Ujurak the grizzly with a special surprise twist, Lusa the charming little black bear (an escapee from the Vancouver zoo), and Kallik the polar bear who was orphaned when her mother saved her from an Orca.Together these four bears, who would never have met had they not been brought together by destiny, go on a quest that they only learn the meaning of in Book 5 (Fire in the Sky). These bears are devoted to each other and to their mission, despite grave doubts along the way, and indescribable physical hardships. Book Six takes place exclusively in the Arctic, a far, far cry from the forests and woodlands that are naturally home to Toklo and Lusa. We learn of their exquisite homesickness, and yet we marvel at their determination to stand by one another to do what fate has called them to do - a task so monumental that no human can achieve it. No human would even dare. This book begins slowly but builds to a very fast pace and the adventure is gripping and nail-biting. The end is bittersweet on many levels. What worries me is that, having finished the book, I saw no indication in the end pages that there would be another series.Erin Hunter created the Warrior series, which is now on its fourth set of six books. I can't believe that Seekers will stop here. This series is too good to stop now. And like my title says, I will miss these bears profoundly if I can't read about them again.I read the books in hard copy but I am ordering them now for my Kindle, as I plan to reread the series. It's that good.

I enjoyed the entire series, and book #6 pulled it together
Book #6 was able to pull it all together with a fitting ending, that creates the imagery of a new beginning. It inspires the reader with the undeniable sense that we are all connected, each of us imbued with purpose. Our ability to achieve purpose, at times is better accomplished with collective effort. We may look different, and have different cultural backgrounds, but at the core, we are more alike than different, and working together brings experience, and perspective to the table. Their individual insights makes the group stronger.

Good book!
I've been enjoying this series a lot lately. The more I read of the series, the more I liked it. The characters are genuinely interesting, even the ones that lean more towards antagonist. The way that humans are involved in the series, for better or worse, is always fun to read...if a little depressing sometimes. The bears know that the humans are the problem, but despite them saying it a lot, I think that the books aren't trying to convey "tree hugger" and "humans are evil" mindsets. There is some of that of course, since the book is environmental, but it's mostly the bears trying to understand why the humans are doing the things they do, and that there are some humans out there who want to help. All in all, the bears and other wild animals are the focus, and their quest has gotten a lot more detailed as time has gone by. I'm very interested to see how they will be able to resolve everything and save the wild, even with a chunk of humans still doing their crazy shenanigans.

Tween Loves these
My son has been reading this series for a while after first reading the Warriors series. He loves them. He even named our hamster after one of the characters, Lusa.

Seekers: Spirits in the Stars
Well, this has to be my favorite Seekers book so far. It's sad with funny moments, happy moments, and intense moments all wrapped into one book. I started crying at multiple parts. When Ujurak died I had almost of bucket of tears... (not literally)I kinda had a feeling that Yakone would want to travel with Toklo, Lusa, and Kallik, actually. I was still a bit surprised though. I thought that Kallik may have stayed on the island. I can't wait to see how everything turns out in the next series. (It's called Return to the Wild, I think...)

Hard one to find.
I bought this for someone who loves this series. She was having a hard time finding this in the stores so we were glad to see it on Amazon. From what she tells me, the stories are about bears who communicate feelings and words. Their adventures keep you fascinated. It is rated for "young readers" but she is 60 and loves to read them.
