I've had a glass jug blender before, but threw it away because the lid would come flying off when I started blending, and if the contents were more than a little warm, I ended up with slightly scalded hands and arms. I've only used this once, but the lid does seem to be more tight fitting and doesn't come off like that other one did. I think its the advantage of plastic jugs, in that the lid usually has slots to ensure such situations don't occur. However, as the instructions do state, don't blend boiling hot ingredients. I wanted a glass jug, since my last plastic jug started to develop small cracks, which eventually led to leaks from the pressure of the blending process. I looked at buying a replacement jug but that would only have been only a few pounds less than buying this new blender, so as people like to say, buying this was a no brainer. Shame I had to throw away a perfectly serviceable blender though just because the jug wasn't performing. I like that it also has removable blades so washing it after use is a lot easier and more precise. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase, although the instructions are far from perfect. Loads of stuff about safety, but very little on how to operate the blender. Not that difficult to work out, but it would have been nice to know what I was doing without having to use trial and error. For the price, a good buy.

Very disappointed. This product does not disassemble to allow for cleaning. Multiple speeds but only had slow or fast nothing in-between. Pulse did work occasionally. Empty under no load it smoked. This product is hazardous. The noise was awful. Akin to a hairdryer in a tin box. Quality is very poor. Do not recommend for frequent use it won't last.

I had this blender for a while and it worked very good until the mechanism of the blades broke. I contacted the seller and they sent me a spare piece totally free. So happy with the service received.

I bought this for a friend’s birthday as a home/welcome to adulthood gift. She loves it. The quality is great, it blends the produce place inside thoroughly, there was absolutely no leakage as the parts were assembled and well fixed. The functionality of the blender is top notch as it comes with different variations of speed which aids in how you want the texture/blends.

I have to say I was disappointed with this product. I've only used it a handful of times as the first time it overheated really quickly and the smell of fish aka burning electrics was vile and worrying and basically didn't blend my smoothie up. After about 40 minutes rest I was able to resume blending - which was good. Afterwards I was hesitant to use it and honestly would have sent it back if I hadn't already thrown away boxes (prior to use - stupid I know) and hadn't had the family dramas in the meantime. Since, it has been good but I'm wary. It is its price. You are able to take it apart to clean. I've given three star because it does what it says. I would not buy if you've young children as you can take the lid off whilst blending .... disappearing fingers would be my fear.
