The Heidolph 360001100 Hei-Vap Value rotary evaporator has a vertical condenser, coated and transparent G3 glassware (1,000 mL evaporation flask with 24/40 ground glass, and a 1,000 mL receiving flask), and provides a hand-lift mechanism to raise and lower the evaporation flask from the heating bath. Evaporators are used to distill or disperse chemical solvents, to purify chemicals, substances, mixtures, and preparations, to process reaction batches, and to dry powder in scientific research, chemistry, and pharmacology applications. The 360001100 Hei-Vap Value features a vertical condenser for standard distillations in small spaces. Two analog dials adjust the rotation speed from 20 to 270 rotations per minute (rpm) and heating bath temperatures range from 20 to 210 degrees C. A detachable operation panel, with power cable, located below the heating bath, safely allows parameter control outside the closed fume hood. An automatic process timer turns the evaporator off at a pre-set time. The 255-mm stainless steel heating bath, also referred to as a safety bath or water bath, has an insulated double wall for heat protection. The heating bath can accommodate flasks up to five liters. To prevent overheating, the evaporator automatically powers off if the solution temperature exceeds a set temperature by 5 degrees C, or if the heating bath runs dry. The heating bath capacity is 4.3 liters. An on/off button controls the heating function to prevent unintentional heating. When the evaporator is switched on, the on/off button is illuminated. The heating bath includes safety features such as grip handles, and a pour spout for safe transportation and removal of hot bath fluid. The stable base design prevents the heating bath from tilting or falling down. The heating bath’s electrical cable coupling complies with Ingress Protection (IP)-67 standard to prevent corrosion and short circuits, and to minimize workflow interruptions. A sealed drive provides pressure regulation and prevents corrosion. The drive's polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seal can be operated for up to four years before replacement is required. The polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) flange has chemical resistance to minimize corrosion. The evaporator has a non-stick vapor tube with a removal and cleaning system that does not stick in the drive, which extends the unit's life span. The evaporating flask adjusts horizontally from 160 to 200 mm. The evaporating flask clamp is connected to the vapor tube coupling ring. A metal support between the heating bath and the base unit provides stability.
