Super cosy - great for dog-walking
These mittens are actually fingerless gloves which, with an attached ‘hood/flap’ that pulls over the top of the bare fingers tips, quickly converts them from gloves into mittens. They are made from 50% wool, and 50% synthetic yarn - and are fully lined with a cosy fleece fabric, making them super cosy to wear. When worn as fingerless gloves, the hood/flap folds backwards and ‘sticks’ to the back of the hand by means of velcro, leaving the finger tips exposed. Similar mittens that I’ve had in the past (but with a straight edge where these finger holes are), have used a button and a buttonhole to hold the flap back, but velcro is so much easier and less fiddly when the exposed fingers have become cold and need to be in the mittens again.I love these fingerless glove/mittens, especially when walking my dogs, because my fingers are cosily enclosed in the mittens while holding the lead, but I can uncover them to pick up after my dogs - instead of having to remove them. The palms of these glove/mittens have the same fleece fabric as the linings sewn on them, which protects the woolly surface of the palm from wear and bobbling caused by the friction of the dog lead. The sizing is very good, too. I deliberated between Sml and Med as I have short, but wide, square hands. I noticed that some males had bought Med, so I measured my hands and decided on Sml because my hands exactly measured the sizes stated. They are a perfect, close, fit. The double thickness cuffs are quite tightly elasticated, but they feel very secure. I expect these mittens ‘give’ a bit during use - and my instinct tells me the Med size would have been too big. I am delighted with them, and I think they are probably the warmest mittens I’ve ever owned.

Amazingly warm gloves!
I am delighted by these gloves. I live in Scotland and my hands really suffer from the cold weather. I have struggled to find a pair of gloves that are both warm and look good, since most warm gloves are those hideous and bulky ski gloves! These Thinsulate Thermal gloves however, are amazing and look great! They have a warm inner lining so my hands are the warmest part of my body (I wish they did a full body suit, I'd spend all day outdoors!) They are interchangeable as mittens and fingerless gloves which is great as they allow you to use your phone without having to remove your gloves. They are extremely comfortable and stylish, and very practical for driving and being outside in the winter months. They are also extremely durable and high quality. At the current price of £10.99, they are exceptionally good value!

Super Warm Mittens
I wasn't really looking for mittens when I spotted these for sale on Amazon but I read the blurb and thought these would be ideal in cold weather when needing to use the phone or something similar. Made of wool with suede patches, they are lined and very comfortable to wear. The flap which pulls over to cover your fingers keeps hands warm. OK so you need to do something intricate, pull the flap back and it stays put with velcro, when you've finished return the flap over your fingers. Excellent concept, well made, I had something similar as a child. The beauty of these mittens is you don't have to remove the whole thing to do something that requires you to use your fingers!! A recommended item for cold weather!

Good Product Let Down By Poor Design / Manufacturing (edit below)
I have now worn these gloves five times in temperatures between 5 and 10 degrees centigrade and have been very pleased with how warm they kept my hands compared to my previous pair of mitten gloves which lacked a thermal lining. However, I am sceptical as to how long these gloves will last thanks to the design and standard of manufactucturing: - Out of the box, the stitching on the leather palm protector was coming away, this has become worse with use and it appears will need re-stitching / removing in time. - Similarly, the stitching that holds the lining into the mitten part is coming away. - There doesn't appear to be enough material around the thumb joint - I can see through the wool when I extend my thumb, so I imagine that this area of the glove will wear poorly. I should point out that I measured my hands as directed before purchase and bought the correct size for my hands, so this problem is not being caused by stretching the gloves with hands too big to fit inside them. - The velcro strip on the back of the glove is poorly aligned with the strip on the mitten part. This means that the "hook" part of the velcro on the back of the hand is more inclined to stick to the wool of the mitten part than the velcro strip that it is meant to stick to. This is already causing wear to the mitten part of the glove. This problem could have been avoided so easily by mounting a piece of the material used to line the palm behind the velcro strip on the mitten. In conclusion, these gloves fulfil their primary purpose (keeping hands warm with fingers easily freed) and I would recommend them to anyone for occasional use, or who is prepared to replace them after a relatively short time. I should note than all of the problems that I describe other than the velcro one are with with right glove that I received, so it is possible that I received a "dud" that slipped through the quality control process. Such a shame as I would have happily given a five star plus review without these problems and could have lived with just one or two of them. Hopefully the pictures that I have attached are useful, but my photography skills aren't the best.Edit: after a couple more weeks of use, more and more stitching had come loose to the extent that I couldn't imagine getting much more than another month of use before these gloves disintegrated completely. They had already reached a point where I was accidentally poking my hand into the lining rather than the glove itself. I was hopeful that having left my original review (above), the vendor would have got in touch to resolve the problems reported. Unfortunately this didn't happen and I could find no way of contacting them via Amazon's interface, so was forced to return them for a refund. This is a pity as if they were durable, they would be a 5 star product.

Very Warm
These are well made with no stitching coming lose. The design of this type of glove is well known to me as used before and mittens are warmer than finger free gloves due to heat transfer in your hands. The fingerless parts are not too tight or too loose nor are they hard at the ends as so many others have been. The only downside to these would be if you have very big hands as even tho I got largest pair they are not loose on me, I have large ish hands, but at least they are not too tight and they will mould to my hands the more I use them. I use a mobility scooter so wanted something to keep hands warm but also have complete control of the speed controller .
