Great earth friendly poo bags!
I've been using these bags for years and really like them. They aren't bulky (i keep a stash in my coat pocket) and they hold up well (i have a very large dog). I was worried about these melting-ish in the rain (I live in Seattle), but they are durable even though they aren't thick. My only nit picking complaint, it that they don't always tear easily (these come on a big roll and are perforated at the tear) and sometimes the next bag rips at the top, becoming not fit for the task. These feel planet friendly without being flimsy.

The best doggy poo bag
We buy this over and over and over again. Durable and bio degradable. I even gifted this for my brother's dog !

Ignore the "biodegradeable" bags. This is what you're ACTUALLY looking for.
We have new dogs and I'm researching ways to eliminate the horror of plastic poop bags altogether (translation: we'll likely have a doggie septic tank in the yard soon), but in the mean time, these are the best alternative we can find. Nearly all the bags listed as "biodegradable" are actually biodegradable in THEORY only. The fact is that they will act exactly like regular plastic poop bags when you throw then in the trash, taking years and years to break down. These are different: they seem to be ACTUALLY compostable, and not just "industrial facility" compostable (because, like most people everywhere, my trash goes to a landfill and not to a custom composting facility). These are endorsed for the European standard of "Home Compost", which means they break down in basic backyard composting, not just in the extreme conditions industrial facilities require. They are very thin material, which is great for minimizing waste, but we were nervous they'd be very fragile. However, we have had zero problems with tears or leakage so far (even when we get the occasional twig or pine needle in the pickup process). The shape is a bit awkward, wider but a little shorter (less "deep") than traditional bags, but they are still easy to tie off with poo from our mid-size dogs. They come flat-packed to cardboard, but you can fold and roll them to fit poop bag dispensers. Not a perfect fix, but I'm very glad for them because they are a RARE find.

Must Buy!
Second time buying these. 1st time the bags had a strong smell which I did not mind too much. 2nd time the bags are hard to open but you find little tricks on how to open the bags faster. Unlike other reviews this little problem isn't a big deal to me. I have a chihuahua/terrier mix and medium sized cocker spaniel. Since they are pretty thin bags, when my cocker spaniel goes I can definitely feel the warmth and moistness more than I'd like to but I deal with it. The bags are pretty much see through. When I go for long walks with my dogs and no trash can near by you can clearly see the load and color of the poo. This doesn't bother me but I can see how it might for someone else.

Reformulated; used to be great, now very low quality
They changed the manufacturing of this product sometime in the last year and it's now nothing like it used to be. The drop in quality is evident. The bags won't even stay on the roll, they don't fold well anymore when you rip one off to take with you, the material is thinner and cheaper, and half the time I try and rip one off the roll it ruins the next one by tearing a hole in it. I was buying these for years, now I have to find something else.

These are great!
Some reviews complain about the thickness of the bags but I think it's all perceived because they are a little bit see through. I have been using these for over a month with my 40lb dog and have not had a single poop touch my fingers. I've dug through grass, mulch and fall leaves without a problem. The bags do smell of burnt popcorn but you pretty much have to stick it in your nose to smell it.I still throw these in the trash so they end up in a landfill but I have hope that my carbon footprint is somewhat helped by the fact that if they do escape the plastic trash bag they can biodegrade- unlike other biodegradable bags that require commercial, high heat compost piles.

Great bags but....
I really want to like these bags because they are the best for the environment of all the bags out there. But they are almost impossible to open. When I need to use one of these while out walking my dogs, I don't want to have to spend 5 minutes trying to get it open. So my plea to the company is - please, please, please modify your manufacturing process so that the bags are not stuck together at the top. I bought the kind that come in the "plain brown wrapper" but have also used the kind on a roll. Those are difficult to use because it's hard to find the separation point between bags. If you can correct these problems, you will have my business for as long as I have dogs - which will be a long, long time!

Very easy to use and open
We love these bags because they come on a roll dispenser and also VERY EASY to open each individual bag. No more trying in vain to open a bag! Also, very sturdy (not flimsy) and do not tear or crack. Will definitely purchase again and again.

I would buy these again
The bags tend to stick together and are hard to separate but worth the trouble for actual biodegradable bags.

Rips easy
The seam on the side is very weak, rips easily.

.Compostable yes, Sturdy, no.
The description of these bags is very misleading. I was looking for a sturdy bag that i could put in my composte bin. The first four bags we tried to rip off the roll tore down the middle (vertically) You have to rip them extremely slowly or cut them as the bags are very frail. I will not buy these again.
