The double towel bar is just the right distance apart to be able to put multiple towels and washclothes upon. The bar is very sturdy, even though I have it expanded all the way out. You pay 3 times as much for the gold but how good does it look in a new bathroom i recommend this product and all the peices you can get to match it. The Wow factor makes it worth it. Very happy Amazon customer
