I'm doing my 1890s small molded iron fireplace hood and frame. I was wondering if this primer would withstand a little thermal heat on the metal? Otherwise, I'm thinking I should prime with an automotive engine or ultra high heat metal paint instead.

I think that this is decorative, so your plan of high heat paint is better. I would worry that this will burst into flames

Is primer needed on fiberglass?

Use a bonding primer like XIM UMA. The primer included is to block acids.

Can I use this on concrete statues and do I still have to prime it?

Yes you can. I've done concrete lions with it and they look great. As far as priming...I've wondered the same thing but chose to go ahead and prime because of the cost of the paint. Seems like a small expense compared to the paint to risk a malfunction.
