I used to use Atlas code 55 flextrack in my N-scale layout, but after finding out about Kato I do not think I will go back. Having the ability to have all wire and the turnouts above the layout offers a lot more flexibility, even though I do run the wires underneath for a cleaner look. Some purists will poo-poo the not prototype look of Kato versus the more accepted look of other manufacturers, but sometimes ease of use wins out. I was able to complete a lot more of my layout quicker and easier with Kato than other track systems, and for me the enjoyment is well worth the (for some) tradeoff of a less than prototypical look. Once you ballast and weather the track sections most people wouldn't even notice the difference. The straight track I ordered here works great for running longer sections. My only complaint is not with the product, but wishing they offered it in larger packs, maybe 10-12 pieces instead of the standard 4 track pieces per package.
