Surprised by how much it cools down
I was pleasantly surprised how this little evaporative cooler has brought the temperatures in my den down. I live along the front range of Colorado in a non-AC 1908 house with bars along the windows. The temperatures have been soaring to the 90’s and the fans and cross ventilation were no longer cutting it. AC units would pull too much power for the old wiring in the home, so I explored other options. This works perfectly in the space of the room, is low on energy draw, and is quieter than my other fans on the lower setting. Because of the windows providing air flow across the house, this evaporative system works at its best. It’s little and I can easily pick it up or roll it from room to room. I have Tourit ice packs that I rotate out the bottom and thy chill the water perfectly. The water it adds to the air makes it chill enough that this room stay 10-15 degrees cooler than the house. In all, worth the price to have a room that livable for my dogs and me.

Don’t buy. Over priced silly fan doesn’t keep you cool. Cheap materials and subject to breaking.
Don’t waste money and time cause you’ll want to return it and you have to pay shipping costs to return it. Warning: this device emits the loudest beep you’ve ever heard. It will wake everyone and anyone including neighbors. I live in the Pacific Northwest which is ideal climate for this, but I think this size fan can only really cool you, not a space/room. I use it to help cool me when I sleep or work but it has to be on you to feel it. I live in a 650 sq ft apt. This works as a really good fan in general but that’s it. Plastic tub cracks under the weight of water. But the beep alone makes me want to get rid of it because it is the loudest thing. Horrible. Embarrassing product being sold.

Works fine in NY
I bought this to deal with the heat in New York and it works pretty fine, not the coolest of air, but worked great for the price, great size for a small room and comes with wheels

Works in small apartments in Colorado
Works great! I did a lot of research before buying an evaporative cooler and was nervous if it would work or not in my area. I live in Colorado (front range), and I have found that it does work in this neck of the woods. I have a small apartment with no air conditioning, and this evaporative cooler will cool down my small living space! I do think people need to go in having the expectation that it is not going to cool a large space or make a space as chilly as an air conditioner would, but for my needs it is perfect! The humidity it adds to the air has also been great for my skin!!

Good for small, not too hot, spaces
First of all, I like this little guy, and I would likely recommend it to others, within certain contexts. I gave 3 stars because it did not work for its intended use.I originally bought this cooler to use in my upstairs bedroom. I live in southern CO, and the summers here get well into the high 90s, which is not ideal for a house with no AC (the upstairs will get up over 100 on the hotter days). This was supposed to hold me over until I could budget for central air, but it ended up not being up for the task of cooling my bedroom. Even with the swamp cooler function on, and ice packs in the water tank, and the fan setting on high, and the unit placed up on a chair right at the foot of my bed, it couldn’t cool down the bed enough to allow me to get some sleep. I ended up having to move downstairs into the spare bedroom, and it works great down there! It is about half the size of the upstairs bedroom, and it is probably about 15 degrees cooler, just naturally. I run the fan in the corner of the room, and it keeps things really comfortable. I haven’t even had to turn on the evap cooler in over a week!Bottom line: this will not be up for the task of cooling HOT rooms or larger spaces, but it is fantastic for keeping a small room at a comfortable temp.

Better than a fan when there's no AC
I've owned the Frigidaire Personal Evaporative Air Cooler for more than a year. I don't have central AC and this cooler has greatly helped keep my non-AC bedroom cool. The only time it didn't help was during the 95+ heat wave in July in northern New Jersey. I use refrigerated water and large ice cubes in the tank.. Fresh ice cubes are added every two hours during the day with the last batch at 10pm just before bed and the room stays cool through the morning. I would recommend it.

Just OK (also makes weird noise)
Bought this for my small bedroom. It really doesn't get very cold. Pushes out air slightly cooler than room temp. The lights on the buttons are insanely bright, also- I had to buy LED light blocking stickers because without them it's basically a night light. Not thrilled, but it's better than nothing I guess.Edit: Weird, loud clicking noises woke me at 3am two days after it was delivered. I checked everything was in order- water tank was exactly 1/2 full, cooler boxes in, water tank is fully closed and latched, filter on the back is secure. Turns out if the water tank is at half or lower it makes crazy sounds.

No Remote Fan Makes Clanking Noise
My wife bought this for her VERY SMALL work space. The fan makes a clanking noise when turning it on. It stayed on about 1 hour then quit working all together. Did not cool at all. I didn't have huge expectations because it's not a air conditioner but it says it cools 100 square feet. She has a space that ONLY holds a small desk and a chair. That's all the bigger it is. It was as hot with this thing as without. After turning it on it was clanking. 1 hour later still hot as hell and it died after a hour use and wont come back on. Will not power back up at all. No remote came with her unit.We want a refund but can't seem to get one. Can't get a hold of fed ex they keep giving the run around. Got about 5 different numbers and no one there can help. Spending nearly 90.00 on something that I have to pay to ship back myself dont even know where to ship it, and still can't get a refund does not make me happy. We just lost $87.77
