It works ! ! !
I spent $50 on items I thought I needed to solve a painting problem at my three story home in NJ. I could not reach a 3 ft portion of the south peak of the house located above my attic window while using my 32 ft extension ladder. I tried to hire a contractor to paint it using a 40 ft ladder and $800 was the cheapest and only price I received. The contractor never showed up by the end of Nov. so I decided to deal with the problem myself. I was able to use the Mr. Longarm brush holder on the end of a light weight aluminum brome handle to paint the un-reachable area. The most difficult task was to cut in the line between the roof trim molding & building wall shingles. Mr. Longarm's design allowed this to be accomplished by resting the long screws of Mr. Longarm against the shingles and carefully maneuvering the brush so that the molding could be painted without contacting the wall shingles. The screws held the paint brush above the shingles enough to keep trim paint off of the shingles. It took pretty much a half day to finish two coats on both surfaces (green on trim & coffee on shingles). I had no trouble with the plastic wing nuts that are supplied with the unit even though there were several reviews that indicated that this was a weakness of this well designed tool. I even went to the extent to buy metal wingnuts in advance to replace the plastic ones but never used them. Mr. Longarm held the brush firmly and did not permit the brush to move at all. The bolt that runs through the brush handle was instrumental in keep the brush from moving at all. This was a major advantage as the painting had to be performed by me as I leaned out the attic window back words. Work proceeded slowly but was worth every $ of Mr. Longarm's reasonable price. I didn't use the other devices I bought for this job since Mr. Longarm performed so well. I returned the other items and saved $800 to boot. I will use this system again to paint the north peak next year.

Works well with other Mr. LongArm Extension Poles
Be aware that some extension poles such as some Unger models do NOT use standard threads and this will not fit it. You could kind of jam it on an Unger but only about half-way.I eventually decided to get a 6'-12' Mr. LongArm Super Twist-Lok Fiberglass Extension Pole to augment the smaller poles that I have since I didn't trust the 20' Unger to securely hold this holder.I originally bought this to hold a tool to scrap junk/bird nests out of my second story rain gutters but was hampered by some loose tiles that slid over the top of the gutters (this is a future problem I'll have to address). It uses standard zinc-plated 1/4-20 bolts which I replaced with stainless steel. Although the angles are fixed by the teeth in the joint, they were sufficient to provide a good working angle.I also used this to hold a cellphone to make a video of all the junk in the rain gutters so that I could see what I was dealing with. Woohoto makes a good cell phone mount if you want to do this too.I no longer plan on using this to scrap the rain gutters clean (I'm looking for a good water extension pole) but have found this useful for using my cellphone to make inspection videos.

Works But Awkward
The extender was easy to attach to the paint brush, and it held the brush in the necessary angles. But, repositioning the brush in the holder to reach awkward or tight corners requires adjusting the extender's plastic wing nuts--wing nuts that seen fragile and don't tighten well. Also, the extender requires an extension rod sold separately.

Brilliant little invention.
Brilliant little invention. We have 20' ceilings in our living room and 16' in our bedroom. My husband and I painted 1800 sq ft of our main floor by ourselves with the use of this tool, the Mr Longarm extension pole and a sturdy ladder. For the ceilings my husband used this attachment, a roller and the extension pole. I then got up on the ladder to use this attachment on a shorter extension pole to cut in around the recessed lights, ceiling fans, smoke detectors. This made the difference of having to hire a contractor to help us finish our very large project. We saved $$$ thousands of dollars by painting everything ourselves and at least $1000 by not having to hire a contractor to finish the job. Very impressive and so glad someone invented this tool!
