INCREDIBLE MOISTURIZING/ZINC OXIDE SUNSCREEN LIKE A FOUNDATION, BUT ADDED TINT NOT FOR FAIR SKIN
Priori Skin Care has always been a real winner for me. Every product I own in their line-up has proven to be exceptional and worth the premium price. This TETRA SPF 55 Lotion with zinc oxide ticked off all the boxes on paper:REEF SAFEMineral ingredients, including Zinc OxideBlue light and Infrared protectionA wrinkle smoothing moisturizerBased on their regular skincare line, this promised to be sun protection gold, and it truly is with one small exception. IT'S TINTED. It feels great, very moisturizing and my skin looks incredible, except it was orange. I have fair skin and the tint is darker and covers my face like a tinted beauty balm or foundation. Note the discrepancy between my skin and the tint in my photo. There was no indication of tinted product before I ordered, or I would have passed on this sunscreen as not a good match for me. If your skin is between the darker end of fair and medium, then this sunscreen should work well for you. If you are any shade of true FAIR, it will not match and/or look orangish on your skin. Just a warning that it isn't for fair-skinned users. Sadly, I'll have to gift it to someone. The tint aside, it's a fantastic sunscreen/tinted moisturizer-in-one that feels just like Prior's regular skincare, plus foundation. I wish it was my color. I've noticed that companies are trying to avoid the "ghost face" of mineral ingredients like zinc oxide by tinting their sunscreen, but that should always be made clear to customers, especially for sunscreen that's $95 a pop. I'm sad that the tint prevents me from using this product, but I still highly recommend the company and sunscreen if the tint can work for your skin tone, and you're in the market for a pricey sunscreen that has good perks of protection and ingredients, along with being a moisturizing, tinted foundation all in one. I'm deducting 1 star for non-disclosure of the tint issue. If this sunscreen doesn't work for you, I encourage to try their regular skincare line that's incredible.

Not for the fair skinned, no protective seal
I was excited to receive this sunblock, because sun protection is the most vital part of my skin care regimen. I am fair-skinned and concerned about the potential for skin cancer and also the aging affects of the sun. Because I am vulnerable to burning, I wear SPF 30 or above sunblock on my face each day. Because I am fair, I love the sunblock with a tent, especially in the summer. I rushed to open this package to try it right away and was very disappointed with what I found.First, no safety seal! Especially when ordering products from an unknown source online, knowing that your product has been sealed is so important. The product was literally dripping out, the photograph you see here is exactly how it came out of the package.Second, it did not have a pleasant scent. I don't usually wear mineral sunscreens but was excited to try one because of the cancer risk of many chemical sunscreens. I thought this would be better for my skin and wondered if the scent was just something I'd have to deal with for a more natural sunscreen, but it occurred to me that I have no way of knowing if something was wrong or "off" with the scent because the product wasn't sealed. Finally, the tint was wildly dark. After absorbing into my skin it did not stay as dark as it initially looked, but it still gave me a strange yellow orange color. Due to my concerns about the safety seal, I put this product on my wrists and lower arms before I went outside to water the plants. I did not trust putting it on the delicate skin of my face. As you can see, the tint is *very* dark on a fair skinned person. This would be okay as not every product is for every skin tone, and people of all skin colors need and deserve great sunscreen, but there was no indication of the shade upon ordering. A tint usually implies a mild, very transparent coloring that can work on many shades of skin because of said transparency. However this sunblock is thick and the color was an extreme mismatch, as you can see in the pictures.I tend to burn very quickly, so I could tell that this sunblock did work well. I would have a burn by now if it did not. Unfortunately, this sunblock is unwearable for me for the aforementioned reasons, but perhaps it would better suit someone who is not porcelain skinned. The safety seal issue could possibly be an aberration, and occasionally tester products are sometimes returns, but I don't feel confident that's the case. I would never again order a $100 bottle of sunscreen off the internet with no safety seal.

Are you a luxury SPF person? One ingredient to know about:
Priori Tetra “for Men gets the sunblock and moisturizing accomplished at $56 an ounce. Some of think Coppertone is pricey at approximately 62 cents an ounce and this one costs 90 times as much, assuming the Coppertone is not on sale. One preservative near the middle of the ingredients list is worth knowing about: Phenoxyethanol. There have been reports of uncommon reactions to phenoxyethanol being quite rarely linked to eczema and strong allergic reactions. Phenoxyethanol use is often strongly discouraged by safe cosmetics advocates to be used around infants including those who are breast feeding. Mothers and grandmothers love to hug their grandbabies and studies indicate this preservative should be avoided around the youngest of children. Those who wish to learn more and make the best personal decision regarding this ingredient may consider doing an online search for “phenoxyethanol safety.”Keep in mind that several beauty brands include phenoxyethanol. Reactions are uncommon.

Dark Tint, Subpar Product
Nowhere in the official product description does this sunscreen say it's tinted, which I tend to dislike even in the best products, which this one definitely is not. It's important for everyone to wear sunscreen every single day, especially on your face, as it's the most important anti-aging step you can take. But as someone quite fair, who doesn't wear much (if any) makeup, tinted sunscreen is very much not my thing. This one, in particular, is not only extremely dark but also dries streaky, with an orange tint I can't imagine anyone would find flattering, no matter what your skin tone.A big huge no from me.
