Good device, until it died 3 months later
UPDATE: HDMI port died after 3 months of use. After a week of use, I really like this device. It's got a number of quirks/bugs, and it is really more for the tech savvy, but it is really quite an awesome device. Plays most videos flawlessly (I use xbmc/bsplayer), but it seems to have some issues sometimes with older tvs. Also, xbmc doesn't always work perfectly, but I think that is more issues with xbmc than this device. Usually I will try and watch something with xbmc and if it doesn't work use bsplayer, which is more stable but doesn't have as nice an interface.IMPORTANT: The biggest thing to be aware of with this device, as well as pretty much any android pc, is that netflix won't be in HD. I think it is still completely usable, but if your primary use is netflix, this probably isn't the device for you.I have also used youtube, drastic ds, mupen 64, utorrent, and various web browsers and they all seem to work great. Titanium Backup works fine. The wireless works fine for me. I am also really impressed how good the usb support is. Almost all mice/keyboards I have tried work immediately. Even my usb gamepad works great. Recognizes external storage without any problem. Doesn't get too warm during use. The company seems to provide updates regularly for the device which is nice, also the development community (you can find it over on freaktab) is pretty good. One minor complaint: The remote it comes with is actually pretty good, but really needs a play/pause button, stop button, and a button for switching between open programs. Not a big deal though because it is easy to download a remote app onto your phone or tablet (like droidremote, but there are others) or buy a usb IF remote.Overall, very happy with the device

Dead on arrival and on top of everything it's refurbished.
Wow! If you are buying this unit beware it may come as a refinished unit not a brand new one! This means your getting someone else's problems. For example mine came with a flickering screen (bad hdmi) an no wifi... I don't care about wifi as I have a hardwire but I am still shocked! Wifi actually works better on these units than the hardwire. My 100 Mbps connection is only 35 Mbps on this device through hardwire.I will try another seller as I actually like these boxes but I wanted to war you about the fact they can come refurbished and totally not working. The 3 stars are for my other unit which is still kicking but barely I had to modify it to make it work and the tronsmart and geekbuying warranty service is total crap they can ignore you for weeks until you put them on blast on the forums. I called multiple times and sent multiple email with no response until I but tronsmart and geek buying on blast through freaktab forums, then they finally got back to me with 0 good solutions. In the photo it looks like it went through 2 warranty repairs. These unit work really good if you were lucky and got a good hdmi overclocked the unit and upgraded the heatsink... Also made huge holes in the unit itself. My other unit I built a custom enclosure for it and it works great! Hopefully I didn't jinx that unit.Hope the next one I buy is not total crap!

The hardware is there, but software is still a bit lacking.
The hardware is great. Love the chipset with hardware decoding for most things I can throw at it. Unfortantely android on a STB isn't quite there yet and XBMC doesn't have the WAF I had hoped for. If it was just me I would have probably kept it, but I need something that is more wife friendly. Not 100% in love with the hockey puck design and the mouse function on the remote isn't great. I'd also love the option of my installing linux straight on it, and running something like openelec.

4k/2k very poor
4k/2k once activated does a very poor job and flickers the screen intermittently. On my samsung 78" curved 4k tv, tried many setting and was on the phone with samsung troubleshooting for hours to know its not the tv its the device.

Works flawlessly. Remote is loud, but not a real problem.
Very satisfied with my purchase! I didn't try the stock system software. I immediately flashed to Finless 1.8 and everything runs smooth. I'm able to stream HD content from my network via XBMC without any issue. No stability issues at all.My only gripes is with the included remote control works well, but is LOUD. Every button makes a super annoying clicking sound. Not such a big deal since I can use other IR remotes, a wireless keyboard, or my phone as a remote - but still kind of a let down. Definitely recommend the Google TV remote which works without configuration.
