Easy to use
This is a very handy reference that can be kept at one's side when dealing with a text. The format is clear and the text readable.

Would like larger hieroglyphics, but small book - small hieroglyphics

Isn't what I was hoping for.
Not as easy to use as I thought it should be. Should have spent the money on the pro version.

very disappointed
I bought 5 books from the same Bill Pitty series. The main thing to make more money is insolence. Also came crumpled I have photos. Very disappointed. Who publishes another book that appears in a book he has already written? The main thing to make more money from the same book?

No frills pocket sign list that won't fit inside your pocket
This neat little book is based on the work of Alan Gardiner. All hieroglyphs are sorted by what they depict (man, woman, mammal, bird, etc.). If you can't make out what a sign is supposed to show, a list in the back allows you to search by shape (tall, wide, etc.). The layout is very clear, finding something is as easy as it can possibly be - considering that we are dealing with hieroglyphs here. It's a brief little book, just 132 pages with 7 or 8 or so entries per page, but it's unlikely to fit into your pocket. It will, however, easily go into your rucksack, together with the sandwiches.

A handy and easy reference for Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs
A handy and easy reference for Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs. It gives the sign, the sound affiliated with it (if it has one) and examples of words used with the signs. It's not a full list by any means but is small enough to carry around which I plan on doing for some Museum trips soon.I'm using it in conjunction with "Egyptian Hieroglyphs for complete Beginners" by Bill Manley and I'm really beginning to learn Ancient Egyptian... slowly.I feel like I would need the grammar and English to Egyptian dictionaries to really progress.

My fourpenceworth.
An easy to carry and useful reference to hieroglyphs using Gardner numbering including a few missed by him. Numbering of additional signs is incompatible with other systems such as that used by JSesh.Ideal for anyone who is learning Middle Egyptian and doesn't want to carry Allen about.
