It poured on our 6 mile hike, and this jacket kept her bone dry. I was so impressed, I bought one for myself in a medium to bring to Paris. It rained off and on the entire week, and I walked everywhere, and this jacket kept me dry! It also made a great windbreaker when I layered it with my packable down jacket on a bike tour on a cold and very windy day.
