A great value for the money
I am a big fan of the Hobby Boss Easy Build kits. Since most of my builds can take several months to complete, I like to throw in an easy Hobby Boss kit from time to time to keep the creative juices flowing and to give me a sense of accomplishment. In this case, I found an old book I bought in 1984 when I was 14 and thoroughly enjoyed. On the cover was an artist's rendition of the hero's P-38, though he used an older version of the P-38 for the artwork. Having already built a previous Easy Build P-38, I figured I'd order another one and paint it like it was described in the book (The Last Dogfight by Martin Caidin). Note: These are not the markings provided in the kit!!!The build is very easy, the parts are solid. There isn't a lot of detail, which is why the kit goes together so easy and is completed so quickly This is important if you build this kit: If you do not put a weight in the nose, it will sit on its tail. The instructions aren't detailed, but there is no reason for them to be; they are good enough to guide you towards completing the kit.You will not be disappointed if you want an easy, low-cost kit of the P-38.

Easy build
This is a very nice kit for a beginner or a nice weekend build for a more experienced model builder. As expected there is not a lot of detail but enough to make a nice finished kit. More detail could be added if desired. The decal sheet is nicely printed and includes markings for several different aircraft. I had no trouble with any fit issues and used Testor's liquid cement which dries fairly fast. I would recommend this kit for someone looking for a nice quick build.

Easy and fun
A relatively easy build not as complicated as the vast majority of models I build but still very satisfying and I think it came out pretty good highly recommend

Great value kit!
Great kit, and exceeded expectations.Detail was good (although panel lines could have been deeper; made it a bit difficult to add detail when painting), everything fit together really nicely, and it certainly was easy to assemble!

Great model for the price
I got this kit for less than $10. Looking at the sprues, this model has very good detail. Some details are a little basic, but everything else looks good. Perfectly-sized recessed panel lines, clear parts are well-molded, and everything fits together nicely with little to no need for filler. Not very much flash, either. The decals are nicely done. This should build into a very nice model with no trouble. I definitely recommend it!

Grandson
He just did a paper on WW2 planes in his class. Presented the finished model with his paper.

Has issues
The stickers it comes with are not cut out. You have to use your own exacto knife.

Easy for sure
Great little model. Builds without problems, fit is good as is the detail. I added a little bit to the cockpit and guns which really elevated to look.
