Katadyn Combi Faucet Mount Adaptor

Such a well known company for water filtration yet the quality of this faucet adapter leaves me wondering if I really can trust Katadyn products at critical times. Users do support the filtration efficacy based on camping and third world experiences. Of course the dead don't talk. Ok. Dramatic. But look at the reviews about this leaky item. It leaks profusely and must be placed in a deep pan to keep water from flowing off kitchen counter. I called the company itself and was actually informed that this product (kitchen sink adapter) did leak but it was not defective. This is normal they said. Does that statement make sense to anyone? Well I measured the leak. For every 8 liters filtered into my container, 1.5 liters have leaked into my catch basin, which I must monitor for spillover. So this is the normal standard for a $60 plus product? They did suggest 2 things: clean the ceramic so pressure doesn't build up. ( did not work); put silicon grease on the gasket in the base (didn't work ). I agree with another reviewer who said a different sized gasket worked for him. But I am wondering why Katadyn is so unwilling to Adjust their product in this way. I am very disappointed in this company. At this time I am giving 2stars because of the niche it fits in the kitchen. But I am thinking of going to all the trouble of getting the Combi water tested to verify that the ceramic really works and any bad news about that and I will lower the rating for sure. I just feel so incredulous that the company asserts the product leaks but is not defective. Unbelievable!

Had the plastic adapter which worked. Finally it got broken so I got an emergency filter for about 500 gallons. Ordered a new adapter from Campsaver here on Amazon. I did not installed it right away because I wanted to use my 500 gallons on the other filter. Just got around to install the new and improve adapter which doesn't work!!! It's over the required 30 days so am left with a product that does not work and less cash. It does not work. The water will not flow form faucet through the filter! Just don't see why I should loose my money because of a couple of weeks. I will be reporting this to every agency that I can. YOU CAN'T SELL PEOPLE CRAP AND KEEP THEIR MONEY!!!

It gets the job done, albeit loosely. The seal between this and the filter is not the greatest so frequent leaks happen. The lower base is cheap plastic. Everything else it does as intended, and the tap adaptor is nice. Options I use this in the kitchen to filter the house water and has worked fine over he years, except for the seal issue.

No more need for the Brita UltraMax Filtered Water Dispenser any more. We now get better water without the need for replacement filters.

I use this adaptor with my Katadyn Combi Water Microfilter which is an excellent product. For some reason, the rubber seal comes with the adaptor does not quite fit. As a result, it leaks and I need to use a container to receive the leaking water.

Excellent unit. Very practical, we used it for about 2 years in our house in Liberia, Africa. We bought one extra ceramic filter element which came in handy when switching/cleaning. Did an excellent job cleaning our pipe-borne water and water from the nearby stream.

It leaks. The provided o-ring is not sufficient to stop this. I scavenged o-rings from other faucets and the leaking stopped so it is just a poor quality seal. The base can not be screwed on tightly because it will pop off the plastic threads and loosen again. The hose is long for my sink and hard to get out of the way. $60 is way too much for this product but is it more convenient than not having one.

Le produit n'était pas du tout conforme. A mon avis il ne s'agissait pas de l'original. Il pesait plus de 200g alors que l'original pèse 24g chez katadyn. Mais le service après vente d'amazon a très bien fonctionné. J'ai renvoyé le colis au frais d'amazon et jai été très vite remboursé. Je suis très content de leur efficacité.

Ich nutze den "Combi-Filter" von Katadyn auf Fernreisen und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Um die Sache in Hotels etc zu vereinfachen habe ich daher dieses Zusatz-Set bestellt um mehr Komfort zu haben. Die Idee mit dem Anschuss an den Wasserhahn gefällt mir gut, in der Praxis ist es jedoch völlig untauglich:- Das Set umfasst eine Unmenge von Kleinteilen, den Standfuß, einen Wasserschlauch und den Auslaufhahn. Der eigentliche Filter hat eine praktische Tasche, dieses Set leider nicht. Man muss also den unpraktischen und platzraubenen Karton verwenden oder sich eine eigene Lösung für den Transport einfallen lassen. In die Originaltasche des Filters passt es nämlich leider nicht alles rein. Sehr schade und unpraktisch.- Man soll den Filter "fest" auf den Fuß aufschrauben. Tut man dies wirklich, dreht das Plastikgewinde durch und wird ggf beschädigt. Ist man zu vorsichtig, dichtet der Filter nicht richtig ab und das Wasser tritt aus.- Um eine dichten Anschluss am Wasserhahn zu erreichen, soll der Original-Perlator abgeschraubt und durch ein mitgelieferten Adapter ersetzt werden. Dies kann man jedoch zumeist nur mit Werkzeug bewerkstelligen. Dieses ist leider nicht dabei. Also die entsprechende Zange nicht vergessen sonst geht nix ab...!- Hat man alle Hürden gemeistert und dreht den Wasserhahn auf - ist man enttäuscht. Der Wasserdurchfluss ist sehr gering (auch bei gutem bzw. kräftigem Wasserdruck) und es kommt nur ein kleines Rinnsal heraus. Der Hubkolben schießt in die Höhe und überall spritzt Wasser raus. Qualitativ also eher mangelhaft. Mit manuellem pumpen am Kolben kann der Wasserdurchfluss erhöht werden, was aber sehr unpraktisch ist.Mein persönliches Fazit: Finger weg - taugt nix..! Leider.
