Monbento MB Original Koï- The bento box

Worked as advertised but started to look dull and faded right away. Washed by hand with Dawn dishwasher liquid. Elastic band got stratched out really fast too.

I love this bento. It's large enough to pack a variety of western-style lunches. I have a collection of over 20 bentos from small 100ml side containers to 1100ml and larger "man" sized boxes. All have downsides- it's a pain to pack lots of smaller containers just to be able to fit my entire lunch. The larger boxes are wide and shallow, which can make it hard to accommodate a variety of foods without having them mix. Some containers don't stay shut.I like that the you don't need to use both layers of the Monbento in order to still have a functional box. If I'm only using one layer, I turn the strap so it goes around the long side of the box, and it holds perfectly. There's a generous amount of space under the topmost lid- I can pack cream cheese pouches or Flackers crackers in there without them getting squished. The two layers hold plenty of food; the only thing I don't pack in the box is salads, soups and one-dish meals that I'm going to reheat.Many of the meals that I reheat are tomato-based or have fat in the sauce that would ruin the plastic, so I don't heat the boxes or I just pack that portion of my lunch in a different container. I also don't put them in the dishwasher, having had bad experiences with other boxes. They wash up very easily, though- hand washing the boxes and lids takes just a minute or two.I also go the matching bag and silicone divider containers. I must admit I paid the premium price on these products because I like the design and how well everything matches and fits together. A Lock & Lock container would work just as well (and be half the price), but somehow this makes my lunch more attractive.

I am 6'1" 370 lbs, so I need to lose weight! That is why I bought this bento to force some portion control at work. When I first bought this I was shocked at how small it was. But if you lay the top and bottom next to each other they are about the same size as a medium platter plus they have depth which a plate does not have so it holds plenty. at first i packed both compartment full but these days I just use the top container. I fit 5 chicken nuggets (cut in halves), 3 chopped baby carrots, and half of a diced apple in the top which fills me pretty good. You could also put a salad in the bottom so plenty of room. The design is pretty cool and it is sturdy unlike a lot of the cheep bentos out there. You can fit a pair of the collapsing chopsticks and a napkin between the lid and the top container. I have put it in the dishwasher and microwave about 4 times and it does not seem to warp, though I usually hand wash it because I need it daily.

This is plainly a bento box. Nothing special. Doesn't keep food warm

This bento is smooth and silky to the touch. It is very well machined with no obvious mold marks. All parts fit together snugly. Has been used in the microwave with no signs of damage or distortion. Somewhat pricy for a lunchbox, but the look, feel and function are top notch.

A very fine lunch container that works very well to carry both dry foods and thick liquids such as curry. Make sure you keep it upright when carrying liquids though, but it's still the best lunch container I've owned. Plus, it fits in my briefcase.

Gave this as a gift to my 25 year old daughter and she loves the artwork and the compartments. She already ordered accessories to go with it.

The product is as much as pretty, girly and class it looks on picture. Monbento results in a quality and personalized product. Great.

Leider nicht ausreichend für mich.Arbeite auf Baustellen und in Hallen.Bei der Arbeit kriege ich richtig Hunger so das ein Salat eher ein Witz ist und die Makaronies aus der Kantine zum würgen sind und daher eine schmucke Box her sollte, die der ollen Tuperdose das Wasser reicht.Es sieht gut aus das stimmt, aber für den preis hätte die Box noch zwei Zusatzkästen haben können zum befühlen, oder sie hättet man doppelt so groß machen können.Für ein ganztags Arbeiter(rin) ist das zu wenig. Eher was für Kinder die in der Grundschule sind oder für Büroleute die eh nicht viel essen. Oder gar für Schüler und Studenten die etwas ausgefallenes bringen wollen zur Pause.DIE BOX:Mikrowellen geeignet, Geschirrspüler geeignet, Hermetisch versiegle-bar, Lebensmittel freundlich, 1Liter Nahrung passen rein??? Das mit dem 1 Liter glaube ich nicht, dafür bieten die Fächer zu wenig platz. Man kann die Box auch kühl stellen ohne das sie kaputt geht.Sie ist von aussen mit einer Silikon Schicht versehen (so rutscht sie auch nicht in schwitzigen Händen und bietet mehr griff), das Gummiband hält die drei teile gut zusammen, eine der innen boxen hat eine Trennwand dabei, die sich herausnehmen und varerien lässt im innerem der Boxschale.Einfache Reinigung ist gegeben.Gut ist- das unterm obersten decken platz ist für eine Kuchengabel oder ein Teelöffel zum mitnehmen, größeres besteck ist nicht.Jeder der zwei schalen hat zudem einen Deckel aus Silikon so das diese separat verschlossen werden können, ein Luftloch mit Verschluss erlaubt es Lebensmittel Hermetisch zu verstauen.GRÖßEN-MASSE:Was ich dumm finde ist das beide Boxschälchen mit ihren gerade mal 3,2cm höhe kaum platz für einen Inhalt bieten der nicht gequetscht wird,- ist der zwischen Deckel drauf sind es sogar nur 3cm höhe. Ein halbes ei würde gehen ein ganzes kann man vergessen. Mit grad mal 8,9 X18 cm Innenfläche von je einer Box-schahle ist nicht viel mit einpacken. Schöne Beton Box Deko kann man nur gering machen da hier nicht die Höhenmasse an platz gegeben sind.Wer hier was zu essen hinein stecken will sollte es klein zubereiten oder zu einem Haufen gut zusammen quetschen können, so das es immer noch essbar aussieht.P.S. Selbst die Beton Gerichte finden nur spärlich platz, muss meine kleinen Onigiri`s immer noch in eine grössere extra Box packen, sonst gehen sie kaputt.Hoffe ich konnte etwas helfen bei der Auswahl der Bento-Box.

Wir haben uns die Bentoboxen zugelegt, weil wir im Büro nicht immer auf gekauftes Essen angewiesen sein wollten und die üblichen Plastikboxen und anderen Behältnisse wirklich umständlich sind, wenn man mehrere "Komponenten" mitnehmen möchte. Dafür eignet sich die Bento-Box super, sie bietet ohnehin zwei getrennte Boxen, die sich stapeln lassen und so sehr handlich zu transportieren sind. Dazu kommt bei diesem Modell noch eine kleine Schale in der z.B. Dips o.ä. mitgenommen werden können, diese fungiert dann auch als Trenner, der dann zwar nicht wasserdicht ist, also Dressings durchlässt aber gut Gemüse vom Brot fernhält.Einen Stern Abzug gibt es leider durch die recht geringe Höhe der einzelnen Boxen, es wird so manchmal schwierig, höhere Teile wie z.B. einen halben Apfel o.ä. einzupacken, ohne ihn in Kleinteile zu zerlegen. Wenn nämlich die Füllung der Box zu hoch ist, kann man diese nicht mehr mit dem Vakuumdeckel verschließen und die ganze Methode verliert irgendwie ihren Sinn. Trotzdem bereuen wir den Kauf nicht und sind zufrieden mit der Bento-Box.

Da dies meine erste Bentobox ist, hab ich noch nicht viel Erfahrung damit.Dennoch, die Oberfläche dieser Box ist toll! Es ist kein normales billiges Plastik-gefühl.Auch die Deckel sind echt dicht und das Design ist großartig!Ganz oben im Deckel hat man genügend Platz für Besteck und Stäbchen!Ich hab auch das Besteck von Monbento gekauft, leider passt dieses mit seiner Hülle nicht in das "Besteckfach". Ich nehms dann einfach ohne hülle in der Box mit.Dafür einen Stern Abzug.Trotzdem würd ich diese Box immer wieder kaufen, weil ich denke dass die Qualität und das Design für sich sprechen!
