I almost never "waste" time writing a review for something as inexpensive and straight-forward as a portable battery charger, but I am making an exception for the Jackery Bar. In a category where there are literally HUNDREDS of options available, this device stands out for build quality, functionality, size, color, price, and even packaging. (Buy one and you will be impressed with the box).I won't elaborate on everything I like, but a few bullet points may help you confirm that you found the right solution. Here you go:- Size is right, even for iPad/Android tablet charging. Bigger isn't needed for 95% of us.- Multiple charges of iPhone 5. I get between 2-3 full charges and it is pretty fast.- Color. Although I like silver/black, the orange is perfect for this device. Easy to find in a bag, hotel, etc.- Flashlight. OK, don't buy it because it has an small LED flashlight, but it is convenient now and then.- Charging LEDs are very straight-forward and you always know how much battery life is left. Simple/Easy/Perfect.I have used my friends Jackery Bar a few times and finally remembered to order my own. Now is the time for you to do the same. Over the past three years I have owned or used AT LEAST 11 alternatives to this and they are either really cheap and don't last, or too big and inconvenient. I considered getting the larger size to charge both a tablet and smartphone, at the same time, but carrying the extra weight for the 2-3 times a year that I would accidentally need to charge BOTH devices at the same time just seemed like overkill.I am very happy with this size and am a little embarassed I don't have anything any constructive negative comments to make. I guess they could always drop the price by $5, but even that doesn't seem necessary. Go order your own. You will be very glad you did.

The Pros:Charges your iPhone or iPad Mini...FAST.Performs multiple recharges of an iPhone before needing to be recharged itself.Portable enough to fit in your pocket.Can use your device while it is charging it.Recharges itself rapidly so you have backup power quickly.I have been able to recharge this portable charger WHILE charging my iPhone.Cons. I'm thankful there is only two. Even at that, they are minor.Albeit a little bulky and weighty, it's still very portable.You have to switch it on when you plug your device in to charge. If you don't, you are not charging your device.I have not charged a full size iPad with it yet but it is a 2.1amp charger so seeing the way it performs on the other two devices I cannot think that it wouldn't be as equally as awesome with it. I like that I can keep it plugged into an Apple Cube Charger into the A/C outlet in the console of my SUV and it stops recharging itself when it has reached capacity. That way it's always fully charged for when I need it. I also leave the Apple Lightning cable plugged into the Jackery Bar so that I can just grab the Lightning cable, plug it into my phone, and switch it on when I need to recharge. Then if I have to leave the vehicle while it's still charging, I just grab the Jackery Bar, tuck it into my back pocket. I can even be on the phone while I do all of that.I work outside all day and use the heck out of my two iOS devices. The phone needs to be recharged about ½ way through the day and the Jackery Bar is the perfect solution. If I'm sitting in my SUV taking notes or talking on the phone, I used to just plug into the SUV's USB plug and charge the phone. But I was forced to stay in the SUV until I had recharged enough to go back into the field. Most of the time I had to go back to the SUV to charge up some more. That kept me tied to the SUV even though I needed to be in the field. The Jackery Bar solved all of that. The lightning cable is plenty long enough to allow me to leave the charger in my pocket and talk on the phone. This charger is so well worth the money. I highly recommend it to anyone with a smartphone or tablet.

OK, I have to be honest about this, I love it. I bought this one because I liked the Jackery mini that I bought prior. The only reason I didnt give this 5 stars was because I havent tested or bought other similar units so I cant really say it is outstanding against the competition.I bought this because the Jackery mini doesnt really have enough storage for my IPad (and its not supposed to) so this was bought to boost the IPad battery and it does it well. In all of these things it is a trade-off between portability and re-charge capacity. I didnt want anything too big and heavy and at the same time I was not worried about getting a 100% charge on my IPad from 0. This unit will give me at least 50% recharge which is a good balance between portability and battery life on the IPad. I could get a full charge with a bigger unit but i dont want to carry a house brick!The charger charges from a standard microUSB connector that is identical to most cell phones but you will need to supply a lightning cable if you want to charge Apple products - no big issue in my case.The case of the unit is a robust aluminium and comes in a variety of colors (good for my wife!). There is a small button on the side that you need to push to activate the charging process for your device and this button also activates a small LED light that can be used as an emergency flashlight if you need - its no Maglite but good for finding keys etc.in the dark.The LED lights on the side of the unit also give you an indication of its charge state and also act as 'power on' indicator.All in all a well thought out, useful piece of kit for travelling, camping and any time when your battery is getting a bit low.
