The Real Deal
This edition is incredible. Just having the Eb Nocturne’s variations is great. Just pick a nocturne here and check with other editions, and you see so many changes in them- great to have and not ridiculously expensive!

Beautiful edition
I like this Edition. I own most of the other standard and urtext editions. This one is based on the latest research and compilation of students of Chopin. In other words if you want fingering and pedal markings that would have been penciled into Chopin's students' music, then this is an edition to consider. It uses the fingering that Chopin himself likely would have used. If you've looked at other fingerings from other Editions then this may be somewhat different especially for contemporary pianists; that's just my view personally based upon how I've come to finger some of the passages. The bonus is that this corrects the notation issues from prior editions. The paper quality is good and the binding is sound. Couple this with some of the other Editions for your research into how you want to finger, and pedal, and interpret the Nocturnes. Recommended.

Missing Source & Performance Commentary
Book arrived in good condition. However, it was missing the source and performance commentary leaflet which was the whole reason why I bought this. There is a free pdf containing both commentary for download from the official site with some googling.

Excellent for Chopin lovers!
Slightly pricey but this is the definitive edition to own. I have other urtext and non urtext editions but there is no comparison. This book is well researched and commentary on separate booklet in English included. I really like the fingering provided. if you research Chopin, he emphasizes fingering and I find that my phrasing is better with the recommended fingering on this edition. If there are variations to ornaments, the authors explains how they arrived at their choice. Paper quality is very good but probably a notch down from Henle. I have other books in the National Edition series and they all do not stay open like the Henle editions. Even the cheaper Schirmer edition stays open better, thus taking one star off, otherwise it would be perfect. The other edition that comes highly recommended by many Chopin scholars is the older Weiner edtion by Jan Eiker (red cover). You might be able to find used ones at a lower price.

Missing Performance Annotations
The order is missing the annotations booklet. Which is precisely why this edition is valuable. Also, the packaging for such an edition could be better. There are signs of wear on the edges of the book which really disappoints when you buy a new product. It was simply thrown in a box with the other items I purchased.Doesn't contain the C-sharp minor Nocturne, op. posth.Other than that - if you don't mind missing the booklet, the edition is good. Cheaper than the Hal Leonard store. But I bet the latter comes with the proper booklet.
