Just what I needed

Powers my Beyer DT 990 Pro 250 Ohms just fine. They are very detailed and have clean bass with the S1. I heard basically zero electrical or background noise. No distortion. Voltage swing might not be enough for some people, the gain isnt as high as other amps. The open design means that it can get dusty, smokey, whatever over time. Its passively cooled, and gets HOT.They do make my MDR V6's sound like a $200 pair of cans though. Personally I love it, just keep in mind I don't know much about this stuff, just that it sounds good, is sturdy, and I haven't had any problems yet.As long as bravo keeps doing what they do, and doesn't cheap out on parts of labor, they will have business and customers until they die, because this solid state HF amp sounds amazing, and gets plenty loud with my 250ohms. You can swap out the OpAmp easily as well.I hear their vacuum tubes are more worth the money, but I prefer the transparency of this one. It also looks super cool.Watch out for EM, which only happens if a super EM emitting device gets within like 2.5 inches of it, if that. The LED when it's on, isnt as cool as their other amps, but still looks cool at night, and will probably get you some booty if you have it on when you bring a girl home. All in all could not be happier, especially for the price. Bravo, never change you guys rock!

Smooth sound but QC issue as with the V2 I had

This IC headphone amp does have pretty good smooth sound - as long as you swap out the stock opamp with something better. However, QC is an issue. I had similar issues with Bravo Audio (the V2) headphone amp that introduces noise when it shouldn't. This one is no different that if I turn the potentiometer it will pop. It does have a better background noise than the V2. If you prefer warmer sound, I'd suggest you t try the V2 - but you'd have to win the "QC lottery" first. If it's not that it burnt my finger, I would have kept it as a spare. It is just getting a bit too hot.

A Stunning Bargain

I suppose you could call this the "poor man's" Schiit (with apologies to the popular Schiit Audio Asgard headphone amp).Class A with lots of available power (and I mean LOTS of power), this amp sounds simply superb once you throw away the stock Texas Instruments TL072ACP op-amp and replace it with a LM4562 (about $4).3-D soundstage...sweet tube-like analog sound...but with superior resolution...this amp is a top performer and a stunning bargain - assuming you can stand the naked tech design. I tolerate the stark industrialism of the design but its lack of shielding does expose the amp to EMI issues from your DAC and other devices so be careful with placement and cables.Headphones used: Sennheiser HD650, Beyer DT880 (250 Ohm), Logitech UE6000, Philips X1 and a few others.
