Speedball 3450 Oil-Based Block Printing Ink For Professional, Permanent Prints AP Certified 1.25 FL OZ, Black, 37cc tube (003450)

I have a number of old WW2 era ship clocks that have engraved letters and numbers that are filled with white and the dial surface is black. The black suffers all the abuse of years of being exposed to fingers setting the time and keys slipping out of the winding hole putting scratches on the black part of the dial. Also some of these 70 plus year old clocks have paint problems with fading and water marks. I needed a way to recoat the black and not have ink get into the engraved white areas. I used a hard rubber roller and this ink to put numerous passes on the dials to give them a consistent new surface coating and it worked great. The ink dried in a day or two. What looked very bad on the dial surface now looks excellent.

Have used the product both in block printing and stenciling. It works well for both.

I love this stuff -it's smooth and easy to use --just really a pleasure!

I use this ink in my hand engraving to darken areas. holds up to daily use when fully dry. only con is it dries fast in the tube with the cap on tight after a few months i have to throw it out and after a few days of not using it i have to puncture the ink layer with a pick so more can come out.

Good print quality. Dries slowly but gives good result.
