Clever product, worked well for me
I couldn't tell how this product worked from the pictures. The attachments look like they would crush light bulbs with their mighty robot grips. But somehow it had a good review average, and the price was right, so I decided to give it a shot.I'm glad I did. The design of this thing is pretty clever. The "cage" attachments have grippy rubber on the sides, so they can apply a lot of force when twisting a bulb. But as you insert or remove a bulb, the sides flare out, which disengages the rubber, and it doesn't take much force at all. Neat. The suction cup worked well for me too.Quick tip: the packaging says it's IMPORTANT to attach the string to the suction cup before use. They aren't kidding. When I first unboxed this thing, I was eager to try it out and I decided I didn't need to attach the string because I would be removing a bulb, so I could just detach the suction cup by hand once I got the bulb down. Well, as soon as I started twisting on the pole, the suction cup attachment twisted off, and it ended up stuck on the bulb 14 feet in the air. Luckily it lost suction after an hour or two while I was trying to decide how to get it down. I did learn a lesson about ignoring IMPORTANT labels on products...

Made an intimidating job easy
So, it took me seven years to use this thing after I bought it. I was just too nervous about breaking the chandelier that was up about 18 feet. But I finally screwed up the guts to do it this week, and it couldn’t have been any easier. The attachment fit on the pole perfectly, I was able to remove the old incandescent bulbs easily and replace them quickly with Hue bulbs that have a slightly non-standard shape and size. The attachment is grippy and solid without being heavy and was easily to pull off the bulbs after they’d been installed. Great, great stuff.

Cheap but effective
In my townhouse we have one floodlight high above a set of stairs, totally inaccessible except by a device such as this Bayco. When the bulb burned out, I didn't want to spend a hundred bucks or so calling an electrician. Intending a DIY project, I bought the Bayco, which looks and feels like the twenty buck plastic stick that it is. But, it worked right out of the box, like a charm. Zero minutes to assemble, one minute to read the instructions, and five minutes to change the bulb. Will it stand up to hard use? Probably not, but hey -- My replacement bulb is a Phllips LED, which will never need changing (at least in my lifetime)!

Floodlights Easy to Change!
I have a habit of reading the subpar to okay reviews and was skeptical before purchasing this. I'm glad I did - I finally changed two hard to reach floodlights!First, it helps to read the instructions. I choose not to and ending up pulling a housing right out of my ceiling, after the pole got stuck. Fortunately, I was able to put it back in. Okay, time to head back to the instructions...I was replacing two hard to reach floodlights with energy saver floodlights. The lights were about 12' tall and able to reach them. The suction cup is cheap, though secure. I thought I was going to break something (the second time), had to reattached the suction cup a few times, but was able to get the bulb out. Putting the bulb in was easier. It's not perfect, but the price is right, it works, and I didn't need to buy a ladder to reach them. Would recommend to any family or friends.

Electrician wanted $500
$500 dollars to rent some scaffolding to get up on my high ceilings and change some bulbs. This is the best $30 dollars I ever spent. Make sure to put the string on the suction cup before you install and tighten all the things down really hard and it'll work like a charm. Changed 10 bulbs back to back like a champ and never looked back. Definitely a new favorite handy tool for the modern home owner

We have 16 foot ceilings on our stairway landing and it worked great for changing recessed light bulbs
I have to say that I was surprised at just how well this worked. After reading some critical reviews, I was unsure of how well it would do the job. We have 16 foot ceilings on our stairway landing and it worked great for changing recessed light bulbs. I have not used the suction cup attachment yet. The attachment for recessed lighting worked amazingly well. One word of advice: Make sure that the screw that secures the attachment to the pole is screwed in tightly. The first time I tried using this product, I evidently didn't have it tight enough. When I went to unscrew the bulb, I simply unscrewed the attachment from the pole. It took a bit of messing with it to get the pole back onto the attachment while the attachment was hooked to the bulb. Once I was able to get the attachment off of the bulb, I tightened the screw on the attachment as tight as I could and it worked like a charm after that.Overall: A really good product that does the job for a good price.

Nice try, but doesn't work
I find two fundamental flaws in the design of this product. Number 1: The adaptor for catching/sucking a bulb needs to be screwed to fit the service end of the wand and then immobilized with a metal screw that goes into the groove of the wand. Unfortunately no matter how hard you tighten the metal screw, it will not keep the adapter to move. When you are rotating clockwise a bulb into a socket this works fine, since the clockwise rotation of the wang naturally tightens up the connection between the adapter and the wand. However, when you are loosening up a bulb the anti clockwise rotation of the wand gradually loosens up the adapter from the wand eventually it gets disconnected. Number 2: The suction cup is released by pulling a twine that is attached to the cup. The twine is as long as the wand and so naturally coils itself around the wand when you rotate the wand. About when you have successfully detached a bulb from the socket (despite the problem 1), the coiled twine could get easily pulled in your hands that are holding the wand and as the result the bulb now loosened from the socket falls free. This way I lost three bulbs and had to spend ensuing half an hour collection and vacuuming the shards. Given the problem number 1, I think they should have designed two versions of wands and adapters, one for putting bulbs in sockets and the other for remove bulbs. Anyhow, I will not be using this tool again.
