Beautiful Watch
Item was even better once I received it. The look was flawless and pairs well when dressing up or dressing down in jeans.

I expected much better quality for $1600
Leather band does not hold up, I have two other movados with metal bands one is over 10 years old. I expected much better quality for $1600. Watch simply does not hold up, this is due to the way the band connects to the face of the watch.

Band issues outweigh the aesthetics
In general from aesthetics, beauty is in the eye.......yada, yada, yada......... and yes I do like the watch's look, otherwise I would not have bought it. The band is the problem but not only because of its closing mechanism as so well detailed in previous reviews. Another issue is that the band is actually glued onto a metal piece that is secured to the watchcase by a pin. Yes, glued. I know because mine came unglued and no, I did not submerge my watch in water. I've sent it back but do not really care if they fix it under warranty (though they claim it is not covered the way Movado has secured the band to the case is ridiculously amateurish) as I am considering just going with a bracelet. Love the looks, very problematic band.

Love hate relationship with this watch.
This watch definitely looks quite nice. Really wish it were automatic. My only problem with this watch has to do with its strap. I first purchased the black calf skin band and that would get lose after wearing it, so it was necessary to tighten often. Because of that reason, and that i couldn't get the band wet, I decided to get the steel bracelet version of this watch... Once again, another issue with the band. The clasp is released by two buttons on either side of the clasp. Unfortunately, if you bend your wrist forward, the clasp will release, and the watch will fall off with no effort. Would love to keep it, but if you're spending $1700 on a time piece, it should not have any issue staying on... Sorry series 800, you're band issues are the death of you. Face looks nice and sparkles...

Beautiful Watch - Horrible Band
Update:After reaching out to Movado, they sent me a replacement band free of charge. I installed the new band last night and all is well. I like this watch body 5 stars worth... 1 star off for the trouble with the band!Old:I love the look of this watch but the band has issues.. the MSRP was nearly $2000 when I got this watch. At that price point the band should not come apart. I've always worn it correctly but the watch band loosens and rubs on the stitching which eventually causes it to pop. To those that say you can get a new band, I have not been able to find a series 800 leather replacement band for sale (that fits the case as pictured.)I've attached photos of the mint condition of the watch (to show i've treated it well) and the band where the stitching has popped.Waiting to hear back from movado on what they are willing to do - the watch is less than a year old and this issue has been happening for a few months now (and getting worse) I'm too embarrassed to wear this $2000 watch so it just sits in my watch box.. totally unacceptable.

Buyer Beware
I own 5 Movado watches and i have had nothing but issues, headaches and high-priced repairs with both of the two most recently purchased. The first three (purchased pre-2012) run perfectly with normal maintenence. Did something change with the quality of your manufacturing?In my latest episode, while driving, the band on my watch suddenly unhinged. There was no contact/impact to the timepiece nor were there any visible signs that anything what's wrong with the band prior to the incident.It seemed like a simple case of replacing a faulty pin in the band, but several credible repair shops (they know me by name at this point) have advised the band is faulty and needs to be completely replaced, and the watch must be sent back to Movado for the work. Now I am on the hook for a $200+ minimum repair and a 3 month back-and-forth with Movado. Smh...I usually don't post like this, but thought it may help some unknowing buyers avoid a expensive mistake
