Student Edition Grade 9 2006: Third Course (Great Source Vocabulary for Achievement)

Great for high school. I use this as a supplement to academic vocabulary lessons. All the work can be done independently, so it's easy on the teacher. The words are organized by topic; for example, the word "initiative" is in the lesson called "Beginnings." Dictionary skills lessons are included. Most of the words are essential for students to know, but a few are too obscure. The paper is a little thin and news-printy, but this has not been a problem.

This series is a great one --much more sophisticated than general workbooks.
