Very cost effective if you don't mind a few rough edges
I would say this is probably not the best option for beginners. The product has some rough edges you need to work around that are really no big deal if you know what you're doing but could be frustrating if you're new to distilling.First, I'm actually embarrassed myself because I misread the description. These listings all look the same, but to be clear this one does NOT include a thump keg. If you want one, adding one later with the required connections is expensive enough that you should probably just get an all in one kit up front. What you get is the basics. A stainless vessel, thin-wall but good enough for the job (and price). A temperature gauge and flared fitting drilled into the lid. An airlock and silicone adapter. And a "worm" kettle with a short length of coiled copper and a pair of fittings for attaching a cold-water source. Finally there's a short copper outlet tube with a silicone connector so you can detach it (or angle it where you want it to go).In terms of the rough edges, first, the kettle is so thin that when you put it on a burner to boil the whole thing actually starts shaking. I've never seen a pot do that. I think it's from expansion of the base where it contacts the burner (I was using a flat top electric stove). I had to hold it down to keep it from getting out of hand. Second, although it's advertised as 5-gallon, that is literally filling it right to the brim. That leaves no head space at all for things like the airlock, and it's pretty alarming having it that full anyway. I would say 4 gallons is a more reasonable max fill level.Using the vessel as a primary fermenter is also a challenge. There are two holes drilled in the lid. One is for the temperature gauge (which if you fill to 4 gallons or a bit over, is just long enough to touch the liquid for an accurate reading). The other has a brass flare fitting on it for the worm kettle. That leaves nowhere for you to attach the airlock! The flare fitting and adapter they give you for the airlock don't work together, so I ended up grabbing a wrench and removing the fitting temporarily. If you ferment separately in buckets this isn't a problem. The kit includes some soft silicone tubing I assume for the worm kettle, although the fittings on that are flat, not barbed so you may need a small hose clamp to prevent leaks. However, I've heard the silicone sealing rings on these generic setups don't last long, so it might be better to save it to slit and make replacements. It's about the right size for that and the kit includes what looks like 10' or so.All in all it's a decent kit. If you know what you're doing, it's pretty cost effective. If you don't, just be prepared to be patient while you sort out some details. Youtube is your friend here!

Exactly as Advertised
this is not a complete kit and is not advertised as one!things you'll need with this is a 500gph water pump (1/2 with extension hoses and a valve) the condenser will boil after a couple hours because it sits on topthe directions are for distilling water so do not expect much from those, i can not stress this enough DO YOUR RESEARCH(making alcohol is not legal in every state)a lot of people say these wobble but mine does not have this problem, i think people are using them on flat stoves and the bottom bulges out and causes it to rock, i do hear a thumping when running but its a still its going to do that, great little starter set up, gets you learning about flow rates etc. i would recommend this to anyone looking to start distilling and don't want to throw tons of money downsome things i don't like, the condenser does sit on top, I would have liked it higher on a stand maybe so the water can flow back easier if your pumping cooling water from a sinkthe other issue i have is the condenser itself because its open at the top you have to regulate that flow constantly, i overflowed it probably 3 times in the couple hoursoverall i'm happy about this purchase for the price
