We actually use this to mix medicine for my son. He has Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) and has to take medication twice a day. The purpose of taking the medicine is for the medicine to coat his esophagus. One common mixing method recommended by the GI docs it to mix the liquid medication with Splenda (A LOT of Splenda to get it to the right consistency. It took us SEVEN packets for each time so 14/day). I didn't like giving my son all of that Splenda because who knows what the long term effects will be. I learned another mixing method from another EE mom. We mix his liquid ampoule with 1/4 tsp of frozen lemonade concentrate (could use any flavor. We just chose lemon) and 1/4 tsp Thick-it. Works like a charm and is easy enough that my 7 year old makes and takes his own medicine without needing us to help.

Even though I have not used the product myself, it was purchased for my husband. He was diagnosed with swallowing problems resulting in choking. This product seems to stir in easier then some of the other products he has tried. In the long run the product is cheaper then the other products as he doesn't seem to need as much as he did with other products and it is much easier to find at Amazon then the other products were in the local stores. I am sorry we did not try Thick-it when he first needed it.

Was smaller container than I thought

I used this product to create this burned bow holder! Works really Good and is very easy to apply!

It's certainly usable for my toddler's dysphagia, but I despise how much it thickens over time. Either I have to mix drinks up in 1-2oz increments, or I have to use way less Thick-It in the beginning so as it thickens while he drinks it at his own pace it'll spend a decent chunk of time at the right thickness, or I throw away a lot of mixed beverages that started at Nectar thick and have turned to Pudding by the time he's done. Frustrating. Mixing up some Xanthan Gum (e.g.: Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Xanthan Gum, 8-ounce ) at 1/4 tsp to 1oz water, shaking thoroughly, and letting it set overnight in the fridge requires more forethought, but at least the beverage stays the same thickness after you mix it (3mL to 1oz liquid).

Using this for crafts. Awesome value, so much better than the Costco price.

tends to separate or stratify after while and if residue is left in glass it sets up like concrete so rinse container after use.

The product does not dissolve completely in water or other liquids, no matter how much you mix it.
