Jim Dunlop EQ Effects Pedal (11077000001)

I really love this pedal. It's well made and not too big, so it fits on my small pedalboard really well. It seems to be true bypass and not affect my clean tone at all.I've tried lots of pedals trying to get that elusive perfect tone and I'm really close with this one. I play a Fender Blues Jr. and use Strats, Teles and LP copies. I like quite a bit of gain/distortion, but I want it smooth sounding, not all raunchy and muffled sounding. I like not clarity and not a lot of muddy bottom end. I have had a Boss Blues Driver a Tubescreamer and many others, but this one has a nice creamy, smooth overdrive to it and you can dial out/in as much midrange as you like.I have changed my approach after lots of research and now I dial up a hot tone, a tad trebley and a tad loud, then I back off my volume and my tone controls accordingly. Then you have a nice fat sound for chords and can get very clean w/volume knob, then come solo time just crank your guitar volume and the lead tone is already dialed in.There's a 100 hz boost/cut knob that helps dial in your tone more distinctly and a bump button which is like a low mid boost, it's great for lead work, but I get the same effect out of the fat switch pedal for my BJ.It's not a super hi gain pedal, but has a lot of classic rock/rock vibe with my Fenders and with my HB guitars it's got way more gain than I need. Really sweet tones for slide as well, lots of sustain and added harmonics.I hope all of that helps. It's a great pedal you'll dig it if your expectations are in line.

Personally I absolutely hate distortion. Distortion pedals to me are fuzzy and you loose the natural tone of the guitar. Overdrive is where it is at if you want a good break-up in your tone with distinctive notation. Out of all the overdrive pedals I have used through my years of playing this is probably my favorite. There is so much versatility with this pedal with the added bonus of not effecting your tone.I am a freak when it comes to my tone. In my opinion when I buy an amp I want the sound of my amp to always shine through. To me a pedal that alters the tone is worthless. This pedal gives you the ability to add that break-up without out destroying the tone of your amp.Another bonus to this pedal is it works well all around your pedal board. Most OD pedals are sensitive to compression. I like this pedal behind or in front. It truly does not matter where you put it. It is going to sound good.If you are considering this pedal go ahead and get out the pocket book and buy it. You will not be sorry.

I'd give this 5 stars if it wasn't so noisy. This is a great little OD for the money, and the 100hz boost is awesome. It's just quite a bit noisier than I'd like, regardless of the gain level it's set at. A/B with a Strymon Sunset and there's really no comparison. The Sunset adds all the gain without the noise - this thing adds both.It's still a great tool for the OD toolbox, and you can never have too many overdrives.

You will not find a better sounding pedal for anywhere close to this price. Period!

I have bought 7 or 8 OD/dirt pedals this year and this is by far the best.From transparent OD to gritty gain (not metal) with great depth of sound and versatility; you have a lot of control over the entire tone spectrum, but it's still easy to use. It works well with other pedals and is made very well. It is badass.

Very versatile overdrive with a variety of tone possibilities. Turning up the gain gives a nice crunch, and can double as a distortion pedal and stacks well with other overdrives. Good build quality and relatively amall size (standard MXR). Would buy again if lost.

First let me say this total sounds nothing like the video that demonstrates it then again I have no idea what kind of amp or what else they had hooked up to it. As a standalone over drive pedal this thing is horrible. For me at least now I am running this through a solid state amp but I'm running it before and mxr super badass distortion, the only thing that this pedal is good for is using it like a tube screamer, it adds some sustain to the super badass distortion, and add some slightly more gain for solos. But you got to be real careful because it starts screaming of feedback real quickly and has a lot of hiss to it.To me basically all it is a tube screamer with a few extra controls that doesn't really seem to do much of anything.When you have the bump switching engaged and you turn the tone up it raises the overall volume of the pedal very loudly. I don't know if it's supposed to do that or not and 100 hz knob, if you go above noon on it it turns to a bunch of booming mush.So when I set it to get a decent tone out of it as a standalone over drive, I found comparing it side by side it sounded almost exactly and I mean exactly like my mxr distortion 3.The distortion 3 didn't have the tonal flexibility that this pedal does but most of it is unusable when using it for an overdrive by itself. I am going to keep it because quite frankly I'm tired of running back to UPS taking things back from mxr this would have been the second pedal that I've gotten from them that I'm not very happy with and it does have one purpose by making the super badass distortion kick in some mids for leads. The Super badass has distortion does have a mid knob but if you turn it too high and use it for rhythms it just doesn't sound right to me personally mids they're for leads and setting up the super badass distortion for rhythm sounds well that usually entailed cutting the mid switch back a little bit this custom modified well that's really gave the mids back it does make the lead sound better but that's the only purpose I have seen for this thing so far.Edit: I'm removing a star for this. After having it for a few weeks and some experimentation, I've found out that while this is has more tonal flexibility than my distortion 3, but when using them both as described above, with the super badass distortion, there was no difference in the sound. Separately, those two pedals sound a lot different, but when using the custom badass overdrive the only way it sounds good, it doesnt sound anywhere different than using the distortion 3. I could of saved a lot of money. It has those extra controls,but they barely do anything and anyone who's run a pedal like this pre distortion knows what I'm talking about. Post distortion gives those controls much more effect, but it's not changing the sound of the original distortion pedal much,which is what I found it good for.im going to try and video all this do everyone can hear for themselves.

would have gave it 5 stars sounds very good but the LED for the bump is so bright it's blinding. i have to put a piece of tape over the light.

l'articolo lo conoscevo già quindi sono andato sul sicuro e lo consiglio a chicerca una buona distorsione, la cosa che non sono riuscito a fareè il prolungamento della garanzia perchè alla fine della sottoiscrzionemi chiedevano una numerazione fattura che non sono riuscito a trovareal contrario dell'holy grail(effetto reverbero) che invece chiedeva solo il numero ordine

Sehr variabler Sound, tolle Verarbeitung... meiner Meinung nach für den Preis der beste OD, den man bekommt (und ich hab einige durchprobiert).

This is nice little pedal with a good bass boost, that being said I find a mainly use it as just a light overdrive though it can do more.
