We have spiders. It's an old house and keeping them out is impossible. Mostly, at this time of year, we have the thin, long legged ones that make irregular webs in corners, but some others especially up in the attic room. We started with setting traps up in the attic and zilch. The sticky patches are definitely sticky - if a spider did walk over it, it would probably get stuck. BUT, these are supposed to attract the spiders and they don't. There's a strong smell but zero sign of interest from the local 8 legged population. The only way they would catch a spider is if you happened to put the trap right where the spider was going to walk anyway, or swatted them with the strip, which isn't going to be a lot of help.I've now scattered more round the house, including sticking them flat on walls near webs, but I'm not hopeful.I wish I'd not bought so many to start with - an expensive mistake.

The Critterkill sticky insect trap is easy to assemble and comparatively cheap to buy. I bought enough traps to place in a number of locations and by the following day found some insects. It takes a while to trap the offending insects, but my patience was certainly rewarded. I wrote the number of insects caught per day on the traps and this allowed me to see if there was a decrease in insects caught and the areas of the house that required more attention. Buy these every year and most satisfied with the results. Have them scattered all round the house usually along skirting boards which seems to work best but under my armchairs or tucked under the bed laid flat. Clubbed together with my sisters this time and bought the 150 bumper pack which even adding postage works out cheaper than smaller packs. We all swear by them although I have to get my husband to dispose of them when full. Brilliant!
