A Deeper Look at Spirituality
There are probably two things I love most about the Higgenbothams. The first is that they write about Paganism, and don't just write mostly about Wicca with a little bit of other stuff and call it Paganism. The second is that to get the full effect of their writing, you have to do the work they provide.Yes, in that sense, it, like their previous book, An Introduction to Paganism, is basically a workbook. It doesn't mean that you won't get anything out of this book without doing any of the activities, but if you're just looking for a passive read, you might be better off sticking to authors like Cunningham. But what's the point of studying Paganism or spirituality with the intent of growing spiritually without doing something? As a "sequel" to Introduction to Paganism, it is definitely more advanced. Another reviewer mentioned that it was "301" level. I don't know if I'd consider that advanced, but it is more understandable if you're at least vaguely familiar with things like basic Jungian psychology (as it relates to spirituality), as it covers a lot more psychology than just the usual rehashing of beliefs (or even the old traditions). That doesn't make it any less interesting or useful, though, particularly if you're looking to get beyond the fluff of most of today's "101" books. It also has its share of rituals, but like their first book, they're supplemental to the text and don't take it over.

Through Amazon I found the most readable book about Pagan spirituality
I have a few friends who are Pagan and I wanted to understand, in detail, what Paganism was really about. It is soeasy to follow and written in a way that one could participate in the spiritual practices with an uplifting result. It was good to be able to unmask much of the mumblings of other spiritual paths who oppose Pagan practices. I would venture to say that most of them have never read anything except some of the more fantastical, inflamatory and outrageous diatribes that have no relation to what Paganism is about. I find their practices and beliefs are more in line with Christian spirituality than I ever realized until I read this. I would encourage others to give this book a thoughtful read and break free from the many falsehoods that flood the market.

Huge Disappointment (so far)
I loved their introduction to Paganism book and I'm only on page 60 in Pagan Spirituality, but I had to write something. Instead of a truly diverse, Pagan exploration into Human Spirituality I feel like I've read 3 monolithic models on how all humans need to excel at being liberally Educated Westerners. As I read I go from frustration on why I'm reading some bland Western, Monotheistic Paradigm, I laugh hysterically on how the Pinnacle is always to be open minded and curious (liberally Educated), to finally being disgusted as what at times comes across as an extremely Western-centric view. In light of some of their own models, it comes across as narrow minded. Irony? For example, they have a section that implies that those Cultures that are stuck in ritual and ceremony need to experience the writings of John Locke to progress to the next level. Hopefully they will drop these ridiculous models and talk about the human condition and Spirituality. That'd be nice.

Authors - please write more books! This is great.
Very inclusive & inviting to all readers. Explains concepts in a very understandable way.Pagan spirituality is not limited to the metaphysical shop down the street, or the little section in the brick & mortar book store.Much of these concepts are very relatable and certainly overlap with most people's ideas - they just use a different title for it.Helped me to understand the general concepts, which allowed me to dig deeper into my own personal journey.

This is a really good book and one of my favorites. Definitely helps with my spiritual search. I love all the questions.
In my humble opinion; this is one of the better books I have read on the philosophy and practice behind wicca/paganism in the last 50 years. If you're looking for a Wicca 101 book and a regurgitation of the works of Gardner and Leek, this is not the one for you. If you want something that will help you to better define who you are as a gay man within the pagan community; this is definitely one to take a look at. High Marks!

Very good! But...
This book is wonderful. It teaches all sorts of different spiritualities, the levels of them, progression etc... though in my opinion it heavily lacks more interactive and inspiring ways to make progress spiritually. Sure there are a lot of questions offered to ask yourself but there aren't as many activities. I feel like it spent too much time explaining and analyzing the types of spirituality from a general perspective than getting right to PAGAN spirituality and ideas of how to progress your own.

Very good purchase
While I'm a Christian, I flipped through the book which was a gift for my sister-in-law and saw a number of things that anyone could use for personally transforming themselves into a better person...that goes well beyond religion.
