Say Goodbye to Paper! The Boogie Board 10.5 inch LCD writing tablet is Ultra light (8.1 oz.) and thin (1/4"). The Boogie Board 10.5 tablet gives you more room to write important messages, solve complex equations or create a masterpiece. Still the best Boogie Board ever made
I own 3 different models of Boogie Boards. This 10.5 inch, a regular 8.5 inch and the latest Sync 9.7 model. The Sync has some potential, but this is hands-down the most useful of the lot. My kids use it extensively for Math and helping to memorise notes or spelling. The larger screen size makes a world of difference, especially when working out more complex math problems. I am very disappointed that this 10.5 inch model appears to be discontinued. I did manage to purchase 2 other 10.5 inch units from other re-sellers who still have stock of this. It's not just only because I have want a spare, but my original board purchased 4 years ago has significantly faded in its contrast, making it almost illegible. You can see the obvious difference between an old and a new unit in my photos.

Fabulous find for Hearing Impaired. Great for note taking with memory feature.
My husband is not just hard of hearing, he is deaf. Sometimes he just will not read lips, so "if it is important, write it down."So we bought three of these, one for each vehicle, and his fishing bucket. We already have two. Next one will be the one with the memory capability to send the notes to your phone or computer. That would be a tremendous plus for his newspaper, magazine interviews, and doctor appointments.Love the fact that battery replacement is an option now.Just remember to remind writers to be delicate, and that they don't have to push like they are inscribing stone tablets.

He liked it!!!
This was a gift for my low tech husband. He works construction and usually writes notes on pieces of wood. Things like measurements, drs. appts. clients phone numbers. So each evening the end of our kitchen counter is cluttered with pieces of wood that I then translate to paper, put appts on the calendar etc. One day he saw someone at work with the Boogie Board and came home to tell me about it. Thank you, because he is so challenging to buy gifts for. When he saw the boogie board he was surprised, pleased and started using it immediately to test it out. He is anxious to return to work tomorrow armed with his Boogie Board and a better way to take and keep track of notes!

Stopped working in 1.5 months!
Kids liked this but there were some minor problems. I will list those out in a minute. The big problem however is that this stopped working in about 1.5 months. It no longer wipes or writes anything. I tried changing the battery but no luck. It is in pristine condition with no drops, scratches etc. This is pretty shoddy construction then and I am just out of return window. Kids are asking for another one, so I will be looking for some other brand now. While it worked, this was pretty good. My younger son is in the drawing stage right now and is forever drawing stuff on any paper he can find. He liked this very much. There were a couple of problem though. First, the writing is not white as shown in the pictures. It is kind of dull flouroscent, a little difficult to see. I think brightness should have been higher or there should be some sort of brightness adjuster. Also, thoough there is a stylus provided, anything can write on this. If your fingers or palms are touching the screen while drawing, those will leave their own mark. As there is no selective wiping (you can only wipe the entire screen), any such marks become a problem.I think this is a good toy/tool for young children. I will be looking for some other brand as a replacement. Hopefully the next one will last a little longer.

White board vs Boogie board
This is basically a fancy white board. You can do the same things with a whiteboard while saving $30. It is nice to have for math. I would return it if I still had the packaging. It is still a cool product though. If I am doing math and make a mistake, I either have to erase the whole board or deal with the mistake. In calc 1 it is important to keep things clear and hidden negatives can mess up answers. If I had a white board I would be able to use different colors and also erase little things. The boogie board does have the positive side of keeping your hands clean.

works well
We bought these for our3 and 5 year olds. It's kind of like an etch-a-sketch without knobs, in the sense that you can draw/ write, then erase over and over. It's fairly sturdy and we love to bring them for quiet entertainment for the kids and also for them to practice writing when we go out- it's great to not have to chase crayons under the table at restaurants! That being said, it DOES NOT come with a string to tether the stylus to the board but it does have a slot on both the pen and the board so you can use or add one (we learned the hard way after losing the stylus in the car so we made one out of craft floss and it works great). The screen has good contrast and the writing appears very clear on the display, erasing is super easy and there is an "erase lock" in case you want to make sure you don't accidentally erase the screen. My only complaint is that the screen seems to be scratching a bit but it's not excessive and doesn't interfere with the visibility on the screen.I have considered buying one more for us to keep on the fridge for notes or grocery lists so overall we are pretty satisfied with it. I would recommend purchasing the cover or case for it as well- It is sturdy but it is very thin so if you plan on taking it places, I would suggest a case.

Fun and practical
We bought these for our grandchildren to use. They've used it for spelling practice, doodling, drawing pictures, math problems, etc. Sometimes I take one just to play with because I like how smoothly the writing tool works, or you can just write with your finger if you want. No wasted paper, just write and press the erase button.

Great gift for an artistic child
Seems to work fine. Purchased as gift for my 5 year old grandson who loves drawing. He loved it. He will get through 10 sheets of paper or more in a sitting. If he likes his drawing on the Boogie Board he copies onto paper.I would say that it is fine for a child to use like this but an adult might find the lines too thick and the slippery nature of the surface did not offer enough detail.

It is what I expected. No more no less
It is what I expected. No more no lessI bought it just to try the technology. I have tried to do sketches in other devices but I never got an optimal feeling.Very often, in other devices, the precision in the detection of the place I was putting the pen and my own perception about where I was putting it was very dissapointing. It is not the case with this little device so I think it worths the money I spent.I want it to do some sketchs so I miss a lot the ability to erase part of the screen and do not have to erase it all. I think it should not have been very difficult to implement but I suppose it is. ( I knew it before I bought) It is a must have for me in the next modelAs soon as they launch another device, with the same technology, size (or bigger), with the option to the save work and the partial erase ability, I am going to buy it. Meanwhile I will continue sketching in it just for fun even if I shall loose my work every time I have to clear the display.

How can there be anything wrong with this product?
This is one of the best gadgets I have ever bought. I often see myself writing down reminders on little post-it notes which end up all over the place. This resolves this issue. Dont hesitate buying this-it is truly great!
