Alba Botanica Acnedote Maximum Strength Deep Pore Wash, 6 Oz (Packaging May Vary)

I've been using this face wash for years and keep coming back to it. It works incredibly well at keeping my skin clear without leaving it feeling overly dry or stripped. A little goes a long way, and one bottle lasts quite a while. I love that it contains salicylic acid but still feels gentler than many other acne cleansers I've tried. It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed, and I've noticed fewer breakouts when I use it consistently. The scent is light and pleasant, and it rinses off easily without leaving any residue behind. This has become a staple in my skincare routine, and I buy it over and over again. Effective, affordable, and reliable—exactly what I want in a face wash. Highly recommend!

I bought this after deciding that I wanted to start a new skin care regime. I've always washed my face, and used toners and makeup, but recently decided I needed to start moisturizing and discontinue to the use of very strong hydrogen peroxide cleansers in order to let my face be at it's best. I've suffered from acne for years. I am now 29 yrs old and believe a lot of it was caused by my poor knowledge of how to cleanse. I started out double cleansing with the Boscia oil cleanser and bought this as my second cleanse. I've used the alba acnedote peel mask before and liked that the ingredients in the alba line are botanical and natural. This has a very light scent that's hard to define, it's definitely not strong and maybe can be described as a bright, citrus scent. It's a thin, runny cleanser and did arrive from Amazon with some of it leaking and coating the outside but I just rinsed it and that was that. This does foam up, which I love, and does an effective job at removing makeup and oil without being harsh. It's NOT supposed to be eaten, but while washing if a bit gets on your lips which tends to happen, it tastes like citrus. Which tells me it does have a high content of botanical plant based ingredients. Of course I didn't mean to taste it but there ya go. I have it on auto delivery once per month now because it takes me about a month to use up and I'm using this as my regular cleanser now. You must needn't use a lot and sometimes too much comes out of the bottle but if you're aware before using it that can be avoided. My new go to! My face has cleared up considerably using the ordinary squalane cleanser as the first cleanse, the alba as the second, followed by the ordinary glycolic acid toner, and topped off with a bit of the ordinary moisturizing factors. I do not use a sunscreen and i know that will horrify most skincare junkies but there is a sunscreen in my foundation and I wear it everyday. I still have a long way to go with my skincare routine and perfecting it but the alba is here to stay. My face literally feels squeaky clean but not taut and dried out from harsh ingredients. I got this Nov of 2025 and as of Aug 2026, I still have it. This is me using it atleast once a day and twice on most days (say 3 times a week). It fixed oiliness in my skin and overall improved my pores like crazy. I’m still so stoked how long it has lasted me. I have atleast anotjer 2 weeks of product left???!!

Affordable salicylic acid cleanser that works well for my combination and sensitive skin. I use it because my T-zone tends to get quite oily, and it helps to clean my skin and unclog my pores.

I have sensitive skin and this has been the only face wash I have found that works and doesn’t irritate my skin.

I actually got this accidentally when ordering their "acne dote" but am pleased as punch with this one as well. It was quite nice for a deep pore wash; it was gentle and soothing, but seemed to have an impact strong enough for people to notice after just a couple uses. I'm noticing that there's already some moisturizing along with the effectiveness of cleansing. Not much is needed and it's an awesome price for how long I'm expecting it to last. Really zero complaints on this one :)

I’ve been using this face wash for over a year now, and it’s easily the best clean non-toxic cleanser I’ve tried. It consistently keeps my acne under control without ever drying out my skin. Also after about 30 seconds, you start to feel this amazing cool peppermint tingle that leaves your skin feeling super refreshed and clean. It’s a perfect pick-me-up in the morning or after a long day. Another big plus: the ingredients. It’s made with all-natural, non-toxic ingredients, which gives me peace of mind about what I’m putting on my skin. No harsh chemicals or artificial fragrance, just a clean, effective formula that works. If you're looking for a natural face wash that actually delivers results, I can’t recommend this one enough.

Like others have recently said, I too have used this product for at least eight years. It is the only thing I have tried that has kept my face from breaking out, well into my 40's. Every time I run out, I just order another one. This one came in and although the bottle was the same, I could immediately tell that it was a different formula. The smell used to be a very light citrus scent. Now it is an overpowering fake floral scent. I figured they must have just changed the smell for some reason, and although not ideal, I would keep using it. Then within a week, my skin started to break out. Multiple breakouts. I wrote it off as too many sweets, too much stress, until it kept getting worse and I realized it must be the facewash. I still had my old bottle that was nearly empty, so I went through the entire ingredient list line by line. They are identical except that the old one has 'citral' listed as the third to last ingredient and the new one doesn't list this ingredient at all. (Citral is "a pale yellow liquid known for its strong lemon-like aroma".) That probably accounts for the fact that it no longer smells citrusy, but it really shouldn't affect the effectiveness of the product. But aside from that, the formula is still off. It no longer lathers the way it used to, and as someone else has said, it no longer prevents acne but instead causes acne. I've reached out to the company for an explanation on the change in formula with the ingredient list still being the same and am awaiting their response. If you're a regular years-long user like me and many others, who have relied on this product, please be aware that the formula is different and it no longer works the way it always has.

My skin has started getting rashes after using it for 2 days. I cannot return the product now. Probably these products don't work with the weather conditions we have in India. Pls. make a note.

At 63 years old I thought my acne would go away but that wasn't the case for me...most products out there are for teenagers with oily skin so for me they were to harsh and dried out my skin causing even more wrinkles. This product does a great job and doesn't irritate the skin. It works for me.

I am 60 years of age and have had late onset adult acne since I was 30 years old. This product Really, Really deep cleans !!! Will initially sting on open lesions and sores. Will not do so on closed acne lesions. Also useful clearing sweat and grime after strenuous, aerobic exercise or working hard in the garden. I will definitely buy again

So far I haven’t seen much improvement with my acne using this product.
