Review: Game Changer - This product is the BOSS of zappers. I live in Mosquito-land Orlando FL and have been going through 2 cans of spray per month from April through October just to go out and work in my gardens, and was still getting bit up. I bought this zapper and leave it on from sundown to sunrise and poof-problem resolved. I rarely need spray now and all the red bite marks I grew accustomed to having are gone. When I first turn it on in the evenings, the first 10 minutes are pretty active as anything with wings heads straight for it. Then it's relatively quiet throughout the evening. When the termites came down from the oak trees this past summer, they went straight to it. The lizards are asleep overnight then in the morning after the light is off, they feast on the "bbq'd" bugs all over the ground then crawl all over the metal grill in the light and strip it clean. They know to be gone by a certain time but there have been just one or two that didn't get out in time. I'm going to buy another one for my front patio/courtyard to keep mosquitoes away from the front door. They hang out on the glass because its illuminated from the indoor lighting. They inevitably get in when the doors are opened and closed but another light should resolve that as well. Used the pack of mosquito bait included and haven't reordered, doesnt seem necessary in my situation. I've gone through a few smaller zappers I bought at Lowes and the bulbs went bad very quickly. I think this bulb is replaceable where they were not. Guess I'll cross that bridge when the time comes, but there's no doubt this zapper is by far superior and really delivers. Made in USA made it ALL THE BETTER.
Review: Works like a champ year after year. Zap Zap - This has made a huge improvement getting rid of the mosquitos. I bought it a few years ago for spring & summer use. I hung it low about 3 feet off the ground in a long chain to handle the "ankle biters" and it worked so well. I have it on an outdoor timer- every evening at dusk for 2 hrs. I recommended it to a friend who was having mosquito trouble this year. I'm glad I got this large bug zapper because this thing really works.

**Q: Firefly**
A: I love all these firefly references. in buying this one based on those alone

**Q: Why must the unit be placed 25 feet away from human activity?  Do you have to use the chemical attractant, or does it work just as well without it?**
A: Lot of misinformation here, the manual never states 25 feet away from human activity, it states 25 feet from your pool/patio. The reason for that is to maximize the coverage area. If you were to put the unit in your backyard right by the house it would cover 25 feet in front, however if you placed it 25 feet away from tour house you would get a coverage area with a 50ft diameter (25ft front and 25ft back up to your house). The chemical attractant is not needed however it may increase your chances of killing mosquitoes (it supposedly contains chemicals that attract certain mosquitoes and biting flies) as not all mosquitoes are attracted to the UV light alone.

**Q: Is it operated electrically or battery or what?**
A: Batteries are electric

**Q: Does it work for bees**
A: For anyone dealing with hornets, wasps, and/or yellow jackets, know that they are inactive in the early morning hours and any time it is chilly/cold.  All you need do is wait for a cool morning and take a long stick or broom handle or some such to knock down the nest.  Once the next is knocked down, they will not return.  If you do not have a good opportune moment to do this, you can always buy some flying insect bug spray.  You will have to get close to the insect to do it, but one good spray will kill wasps, yellow jackets, etc.  Never harm a honey bee.  Honey bees are our friends.  I even prefer to deal with wasps, hornets, etc., by simply knocking down the nest. If you can avoid using chemicals, and you can avoid killing anything, it is better to do so.  The only creatures I have no compunction in killing are roaches!

This has made a huge improvement getting rid of the mosquitos. I bought it a few years ago for spring & summer use. It mostly works but some of my friends will still attract the mosquitoes that haven't gone to the light yet. You can hear it killing bugs, which is kind of cool. I recommend it. Way better than harmful chemicals. For the record it is one of the B vitamins that if present in your blood the mosquitoes will avoid you. The first ones will let the others know.
