They are more matte than shiny if that helps. Also, they are not compression. More for yoga and casual wear. Very comfortable. I am 5’5” 135 lbs and wear a Medium

They don’t pill. It’s very smooth non-pilling fabric. I wore and machine washed and line dried mine all summer and their great.
