Great coffee pot
I’ve had 3 “SCA” certified coffee makers over past 3 years. Techno verm mocca master which sucked and all coffee tasted like garbage. I returned that for a CAFE machine. That one was ok but leaked , pain in neck to clean and was never hot enough, AND the special button to put in “gold” mode for SCA perfect temp coffee broke. I returned for 2nd one and coffee again was never hot enough. Temperature would range from like 156 degrees to 180. I sent in with Amazon warranty and it couldn’t be fixed. I decided to get. A highly reviewed “normal “ coffee maker. The cuisinart so far is awesome. Coffee actual hot. It tastes great. Easy to clean and large capacity. 100000% recommend it. I’m So happy to have good cofffee.

Compact decent capacity coffee brewer for a reasonable price.
Making a good cup of Coffee for me as it is for many, a very serious morning event. I do not take it lightly. So as you can see from my short video, I am not afraid to invest in the process. But I’d like to think there are points of diminishing returns and that’s how I approached this purchase. You can spend mega bucks on a coffee brewer, but does that insure the best experience, the best end result. So I wanted an attractive, easy to use brewer that would not take up more counter space than necessary, and not break the bank. Enter the Cuisinart brewer. It is not the cheapest but it is far from the most expensive. I buy my coffee beans from a local roaster, grind my own coffee, and primarily drink light to medium roasted coffees. The Cuisinart once ordered was delivered within a couple days. Package was undamaged, it was double boxed. The brewer was easy to unpack and setup. I ran a pot of water through the brewer just to flush things out. Then brewed up a 8 cup pot. 8 cups really means about 4 decent sized coffee mugs of coffee. I used a tbs of coffee per cup for the brewing process. Using the Cuisinart was fairly straight forward. A series of buttons across the front panel gives you your brewing options and the tiny clock is surrounded by another series of buttons to set time, adjust the tone, and adjust the temp of the hot plate (low, medium, high). Inside the brewer once you lift the top lid, is a basket holding a reusable metal mesh filter. Be aware that the basket is all plastic and after you lift it out, must be set back into its proper position. You cannot just drop it in place. There is an ample opening to add your water. You must exercise some care in filling the coffee maker. The side of the coffee maker has a volume capacity indicator. The glass pot is nicely designed but careful as the glass may not be the most resistant to breaking, it is on the thin side. I’ve been using #4 paper filters for my brewing. Seems to work just fine. Now as for the brewing process, you can set a timer for automatic start or use the center button to initiate a start. I’ve done both, works well. As for the end product…..the brewed coffee is very good. Much will depend on what coffee you actually use and the quality of your water. Oh, and there is a charcoal filter for water filtration. It is found on the left interior side on the end of extended plastic piece. Not sure what else I can add here only to say that the machine does its job and the end result is good. For less than $100, money well spent.

Great simple machine... Fantastic cup of full bodied coffee
Love this machine. Makes a very fine cup of coffee ... It's a slower brew time than most but that's also why the coffee tastes so good. The different temp selections on the carafe plate warmer are really nice ... ...I've yet to taste a burnt cup. It's makes a LOT of coffee and the smaller brew options works great as well. You need to put in the amount of water for the size pot you're brewing ... The one to four cup button doesn't control the amount of water that gets brewed... It's not like some makers on the market where you can fill the reservoir and it'll stop itself at two cups. If you overfill it, there will be a waterfall out the back top ... Learned right away to check the reservoir before filling. Operator error I got the white one and the ease of cleaning this unit is great. You can fit your hand inside the carafe to clean it unlike taller thinner carafes I've had. It's a simple body so clean up is a breeze. Really glad I went with the Cuisinart. I've always used the bold/rich settings on other machines but this one is as good as those on the regular setting... Rich is the default here, depending on your beans. The bold setting is great for afternoon sweet coffee with creamer when you still want rich coffee flavor. There's a mesh filter or you can use a paper filter. The tiny looking scoop IS a TABLESPOON although it doesn't look like it is at all.

What Cuisinart doesn't tell you about this coffee maker
The main reason for the 4 stars is the carafe, which is not user friendly. You must use 2 hands to remove the lid. The coffee stream's angle relative to the carafe changes as you pour. You have to aim for the center of the coffee cup, especially when the carafe is nearly empty. And even then some coffee might dribble down the side of the cup. Life is too short to live with this carafe. I replaced it with an aftermarket carafe I found at Amazon which corrects these problems. I'm keeping the Cuisinart carafe for backup. My brew water is already filtered in a ZeroWater pitcher. This makes the Cuisinart's charcoal filter redundant. The DCC-3200 works fine without the filter or the filter holder. Coffee tastes a little better without the charcoal filter. The coffee maker is easy to operate manually. I haven't tried the programmable features. The quality of the coffee it makes is so-so until you learn some things that aren't documented by Cuisinart in the Instruction Booklet. It should not be necessary to read user reviews to learn everything this coffee maker can do. The trick to getting good coffee flavor from the DCC-3200 is to slow down the brew speed. The DCC-3200 has 4 brew speeds, as follows: Speed 1: Just press the Brew button. It brews about 1 cup per minute. The coffee is weak but drinkable if you're in a hurry. Speed 2: Press the Bold button and then the Brew button. This setting brews a cup in every 75 seconds. The taste is better than the Speed 1 taste, but still a bit weak. Speed 3: Press the 1-4 Cup button and then the Brew button. This setting brews a cup in every 85 seconds. The taste is better still, richer than that of Speed 2. The coffee maker does not know or care how many cups of water you are brewing when you select the 1-4 Cup button. It just slows the brew speed to extract more flavor from the grounds. Speed 4: Press both the Bold button and the 1-4 Cup button, then press the Brew button. This setting brews a cup in every 100 seconds. The taste is better than that of Speed 3. Speed 4 is slow, but the quality of the brew is well worth the wait. I like the 3 year warranty which suggests that this coffee maker will last a lot longer than the n_nj_ coffee maker it replaced. It is really hard to find a large capacity coffee maker with an acceptable combination of ease of use, flavor and expected durability. The DCC-3200 would be a 5 star coffee maker if it had a user friendly carafe. I like the look of this coffee maker. I like the size, which is compact considering its brew capacity. I would like it more if the water reservoir gauge was on the left side or, better still, on both sides.

Good durable coffee maker.
One of the best and cheapest, good looking coffee makers out there. I have one at home and one at the office for years and it works everyday. The coffee is hot, it keeps it fairly hot not burned, easy to fill, easy to add coffee. I have bought many coffee makers and some are much much more expensive. But just for a good consistent pot of coffee once you get the correct measurements of coffee and water I think there is none better. It came with the gold filter which is good since I never use paper, it has a few brew temp and carafe temps and you can set the timer to brew automatically. It does not take up much space is fairly easy to keep clean. The water tank though does take a bit of work to get clean and keep clean though. Over time it gets pretty rank and I cleaned mine by spraying soap and Clorox in it and using a dishrag to clean it out. I then rinsed it out in the sink all the time being upside down so as this would not enter the brew track. Once cleaned and rinsed then filled with water and ran a couple of pots of water through it and its as good as new. Now unless your a professional, I don't recommend doing this LOL but it never stopped working and never stopped brewing a good cup of coffee. Looks and works as good as the day it was purchased. I did buy another one and had a funeral for the old one after many years. It still worked, so it was hard to part with but the wife said we had to get a new one. Sheesh, Why? O well you know how that goes.

Makes great coffee
Love my new coffee maker. I should for the price. I hope it lasts. The reusable gold filter works great! I'm a fan. It brews quickly and I like the adjustable heat for the base. It's got a huge pot if I need it too.

Simple operation for good tasting coffee.
For once I am pleased to say this was a great coffee maker purchase. This coffee maker has performed well over the last several months with constant daily use. I would say it makes a great drip coffee. Some tips: 1) use good quality bottled water, 2) keep the unit clean and dry (I leave the reservoir open after cleaning), 3) use high quality already ground coffee and use the strong setting on the coffee maker. I unplug the unit after use each day, so I do not use the programed settings or the clock. I measure out the coffee add water plug it in to the wall and push two buttons. Easy peasy and the result is good coffee in the morning every day.

BKSP1 Model Clock Runs FAST
This BKSP1 (black stainless appearance) 14-cup coffeemaker replaced a 12+ year old Cuisinart 12-cup unit we used until it finally quit working. Great coffeemaker and it produced great coffee. My research to replace the old unit settled on the BKSP1 model and Amazon delivered straight-a-way. I got it all cleansed out, programmed and set up for begin brewing at 4:45 the next morning. It brewed a great pot of coffee and all worked wonderfully ... EXCEPT that the clock on the BKSP1 was running FAST. It had "gained" almost an hour since I had set it up the day before. Thus the coffee was actually brewed at ~3:45AM. I reset the clock and kept watching it as I would walk by the coffeemaker and noted that it was gaining time or running FAST. I went through this for several days and finally sent a message to Amazon C.S. and they immediately replaced with another BKSP1 and I returned the original unit. I went through the setup process with the #2 BKSP1 and was hopeful that the clock would keep proper time ... however it did not. The clock on the #2 BKSP1 also ran FAST. The coffeemaker worked just fine in all regards ... save for the clock running FAST. So, I reached out to Cuisinart/Conair C.S. with this "fast clock" issue and they replaced the #2 BKSP1 with the #3 BKSP1. I did all the setup with #3 and lo & behold ... the clock on the #3 BKSP1 also runs FAST. All other elements work just fine, brews great coffee, but the clock just has a mind of it's own. So (you can guess what is next), I reached out to Cuisinart/Conair C.S. (again) with the fast clock issue noted in graf above. A ticket was established and I was shipped a #4 BKSP1 to replace the #3 unit. Can you see where this is going? The #4 BKSP1 unit was set up and put into service and the clock on #4 also runs FAST. So ... it appears that there is something common going on with the BKSP1 model units. This time I called Cuisinart/Conair C.S. (I had been establishing all other tickets via the inter-web and e-mail). The lady with C.S. was simply excellent and she noted my BKSP1 ticket history and said she would have another unit shipped out straight-a-way. She asked if I still wanted the same BKSP1 model or would I want to get the SP1 model (SP1 is the brushed stainless appearance). I figured what the heck ... I would get the SP1 this time. In a couple days I received the #5 SP1, got it all set up and ready to brew coffee the next morning at 4:45. I would glance at the clock on the #5 SP1 as I walked by the unit and the clock was ACCURATE. I was again hopeful that the clock would hold and keep proper time. At 4:45AM the brew cycle started and it actually was at 4:45AM. The clock held it's accuracy for one day at that point. It has now been 3-days and the clock on the #5 SP1 is "spot on". So (there is the 'so' word again) I noted on the boxes the coffeemakers were shipped in had the countries of manufacture stamped on them. The BKSP1 units were all manufactured in China. The SP1 unit was manufactured in Indonesia. AHA - I said. There is a manufacturing plant issue going on. I did an extensive observation letter to Cuisinart/Conair about my situation and thoughts of what is going on. BTW - In addition the BKSP1 units all dripped extensive moisture droplets down the back side of the unit when the top lid was opened to removed the coffee grounds. This had me wondering if there was a leak as there was water all over the counter under the BKSP1 units. Turns out the drip lip on the upper back of the BKSP1 appears to be 'flat' without adequate slope to have the water droplets flow back into the reservoir. Also the drip lip is not as deep as what I noticed on the SP1 units. I also observed (on both the BKSP1 and SP1 models) that there is a lot of moisture condensation that collects on the upper front panel where the control buttons are located. To me this could affect the electronics that I'm guessing is located near or behind this panel. Ergo couple items of note for Cuisinart/Conair: 1) Production molds for the BKSP1 and SP1 are NOT the same between the China and Indonesia manufacturing plants. Thus the drip lip issue noted above. 2) The chips/electronics being used in the China plant for the BKSP1 are defective and can't keep proper time. All-in-all ... The Cuisinart 14-cup coffeemaker is an excellent product and works very well and produces great coffee. Save for the units (in my case) that are manufactured in China where the chips/electronics they are using just don't work. Adding to that the manufacturing mold difference that slightly changes the size of the drip lip on the upper back. I would suggest getting the the SP1 model and keep your fingers crossed that it is also manufactured in Indonesia as opposed to China. At least until such time as changes are made in the manufacturing facility in China to correct the noted issues. Cheers, Nolan K.
