I am hooked on this series!
Again, a story that didn't disappoint! I get into the story so much, that I keep extending my reading time not wanting to put the book down!Ms. Logan has a talent for detail. She easily brings the reader into the world of the characters. Sights and sounds and smells give the reader the sense of "being there."I look forward to reading every book in the series.

I can't read Italian!
I liked the story but like her last book which had all kinds of French words in it, if what is being said in another language isn't interpreted then I lose the flow of the story. She needs to make sure she explains what is being said.

The Diamond Brooch Brings A Sense of Fun And Adventure in the Early 1900's!
This is my second time reading this series and I have enjoyed it so much! I love how the series just keeps moving and changing into something wonderful! The first book starts on a beautiful Kentucky horse farm. The owners have just died in an accident and their grieving adopted daughter decides to travel to the past seeking clues to who she really is. She finds her true identity, a welcoming family, finds love and decides to stay. This leaves Elliot, the farm's manager alone. There is a sense of loss and saddness. There are no more MacKlennas left. And yet from this comes a new beginning. The mysterious ruby brooch remains in Elliot's possession and in the second book he finds love. A direct descendant of Kit and a MacKlenna. The MacKlenna line reignites with a sense of joy. But nothing is ever easy! The strong and well drawn personalities of our characters are constantly challenged by their own faults, health problems, and taxing jobs among other things. With each book the family grows as new characters are added and they go on new and dangerous adventures. New problems stretch the abilities of all characters who continue to grow and change. The MacKenna farm grows into a corporation which keeps adding new businesses with plenty of room for it's growing family. Love and family is the thread that holds it all together. The reader gains the sense of being part of this loving and exciting family and joins in the happiness that success brings! Previous adventures have included traveling the Oregon trail, modern day travel between Scotland, Napa, and a Kentucky horse farm. The civil war, WWII England, and 18th century Napa and San Francisco. I love them all however the Diamond Brooch is my favorite! There are no wars being fought in this one and there is a sense of fun as a modern day gal with brains is able to talk her way into a decent job and essentially brings happiness to everyone around her! It is also a favorite era of mine and I found the new information about what life was like them fascinating. As always everything is well described, and evidence of thorough research and attention to detail is evident throughout. I also enjoyed seeing Jack, who is loving but so irresponsible finally grow up and behave like a man! This is a wonderful series and there is lots of room for more growth, new characters and more exciting adventures! I hope there are many more additions!

The Diamond Brooch
As a complicated story I appreciated the character listing. Beyond that it is a wonderful story full of surprises at every turn, especially the portion taking place in Pittsburgh, PA. The Ft. Pitt Hotel, Forbes Field, the Pennsylvania Railway Station and the view from Mt. Washington are wonderful memories and were a delight.

Loved this book as much as the previous six books!
Wow, another fantastically written book in this series - I had trouble putting it down, particularly the last 3rd of the volume. Being originally from Pittsburgh, I really got a great kick out of those scenes and descriptions of the 1909 version of the city and mention of the opening of the new Forbes Field. I spent some fine days at that old stadium in my youth and attended the very last game played there in 1970 (still have the ticket stub). Anyway, the broad geographical scope of the book enhanced its appeal for me, which has been an enjoyable aspect of all of the books. Thanks so much to Ms Logan for her extreme level of detail and amazing intimate conversations between her characters. Please keep writing as long as possible. I have been greatly entertained by all these books and look forward to the next four in the series!

Good, but complicated with so many characters. A LOT of drinking
I have read all 7 in the series so far and I love the time travel idea. The author does a good job of building characters and I actually began to have opinions of them like they are real. For instance, I don't like Kevin. There is something much to metrosexual about him - so she must do a good job with personalites.I enjoy the way she brings you right into the history of the time they visit, with great detail (although I found the baseball stuff rather boring - at least for my interest)Each book brings more and more characters and woe to the person who picks up one of the books out of sequence. Even though I have read them all I still have to stop and think once in a while of who is married to who and which person is which. Reading them in sequence helps a lot since you have a whole book to get to know each character before more are introduced. The only criticism I have is the over done amount of drinking to excess in every book and some of the overdone sex scenes. Just because the men are Scots doesn't mean they regularly over indulge. Also I am not particularly interested in reading pages and pages of description about these educated professional women getting drunk when they feel sorry for themselves or reading the details of their monkey sex as, to me, it takes some of the romance out of it.Other than the above. These are really well written, well thought out, and imaginative stories. Very clever.I will read all of the rest of them.

Rubbish
How could anyone manage several books of this rubbish. If this is aimed at young girls, they are being led to believe that money grows in trees and ensures everything will be wonderful.
