A Simplified Harmony of the Gospels: Using the Text of the HCSB Paperback – September 1, 2001

I am not a reader, but I am enjoying reading this. It certainly gives a I am not a reader, but I am enjoying reading this. It certainly gives a clear detailed understanding for the reader of events that occurred.It really clarifies a lot of questions that one may have and fills in a lot of blanks with knowledge.

I don’t want to sound too negative. This harmony is done well. Why read this instead of one of the many Bibles in chronological order? Because the Knight splices together the different events into one seamless reading. Here "simplified" means: not relying on Greek. In addition, the book is filled with solid study notes.A joy to read, but I have a study bible already, and I have a chronological bible already. I would have preferred if the notes were more apology-related. Like Why do we know Jesus cleaned the temples twice? The answers are a quick Google search away but there are almost no apologetic questions answered within the notes. Nor do I now know enough about why certain things are placed in a certain order to explain to someone else why this is so.Still excellent work.The HCSB translation is the progenitor to the CSB, and in some ways I prefer it: doulos as slave, though the CSB is smoother.

Excellent resource, especially for those who are familiar with the gospels and are now re-reading them continuously. This harmony helps keep the variations between the gospels clear. The commentaries are very well done and provide practical insight without obscuring the point with lot of theological or academic window dressing.

Great reference tool for bible study. Great historical and spiritual insights. I have only read a few chapters thus far, and only had one minor theological difference in opinion from that stated in the book -- I disagreed with one sentence discounting modern revelation. Otherwise it's been a great book to read from in personal scripture study and even sharing at the dinner table.

Early in my life I thought that I was in control. I made plans for everything, but something was missing.I heard about a man named Jesus Christ.I started to read the Bible, but I found it ttobe confusing. I continue to read it and often wondered how it would be clearer if it was in order.I find it easier to read and follow. It answered some questions and opened others. A must read for anyone that wants to learn more.

This Harmony of the Gospels is just what I was looking for. I am very pleased with my purchase. The type is good for my eyes, just the right size. It’s easy to understand and follow. The notes are excellent. I also like the HCSB. It’s a great way to learn more about Jesus and His ministry. I highly recommend.

I enjoyed this book it has became almost for while my daily devotional reading of the God's word. This book was a required text book for an online course from a seminary. A Missionary Baptist Association Seminary in Texas. The commentary comments could have been more extensive but were very helpful overall. I tried to find out about the Author and it was very hard to pin him down. After researching him for awhile the author seemed to be a George W. Scott III. And he was an Evangelical Presbyterian minister from Pennsylvania. I also found out that he has been quoted or I should say his other books have been used by Seminary professors from schools that are from the Southern Baptist Convention.

I really enjoyed this book. Pointing out the consistent way christ ties everything together, examples, Peter denied Jesus 3 times, after Jesus resurrection He asked Peter 3 times " do you love me" Everything Jesus said and did had meaning and refers to another incident, amazing PRAISE GOD!!!

Excellent harmony, reads well and easy to follow. Useful snippets of commentary. Also a helpful reading plan. Really liked it.
