Tried Three Different Kinds and These Worked the Best For Me
I hurt my foot a while back, Dr. said it was something similar to turf toe. I was in a cast to keep my weight off foot and prevent toe from moving in order for it to heal. It got better but when I went back to normal shoes, it started getting worse again. The Dr. had given me a sesamoid relief binder, it was like a half sock with the toes cut off and a cushion underneath the ball of foot, excluding the toe area to keep some weight off that area. It helped a little but I lost it (It probably went to that place where missing socks go) so I was looking for a replacement.I purchased this product and Sesamoid Relief Sleeve - Small Left which was similar to what the Dr. gave me but it was significantly less padded and didn't give much support. The Dancer pads, however, were great. On a side note, the name is ironic for me since I can't do much dancing anymore. The design doesn't include a sleeve which can cause them to shift a little in certain instances. For example, when I wear sandals (I am one of those that don't wear socks with sandals, just a personal preference). The upside is that you can position them exactly where you need them, whatever works best for you, something you can't do with the sleeve style version. The underside of the Dancer pads have a grippy/sticky gel finish that does a good job of hanging on to your foot. They are also very easy to clean and reuse. You just wash them with water, they dry quickly and they are like new, ready to use in no time. You don't have to throw them in the wash and wait for them to dry. I don't know what the padding inside of the sleeve styles is, I haven't ripped any open, but it doesn't feel like the Dancer pads material, not as dense. It seems more like a foam which I imagine would eventually deteriorate after so many washings.Dimension wise, they are about 3.25 in. long and about 2.5 in. at the widest point. I wear a 6.5 in women's shoes, the ball of my foot is about 3.5in. wide while flat and these fit perfectly. They are very thick, about 3/16th of an inch (.5cm, 5mm). They are soft and squishy (I know I am blowing you away with my technical terms but please try to keep up). If I push down on them, they have give but even if I put down my entire weight (about 110lbs) on it, I don't feel like I've sunk into them. When you remove the pressure, it slowly regains its form. The best part for me is that since they are so small and (without a sleeve) inconspicuous, I can wear them with my strappy shoes without announcing to the world my foot issues.I've been using them about a month and giving me toe area a rest, my foot has gotten a little better. I have really high arches and maybe that is why the other thinner pads didn't work for me. These are the only ones I have tried that actually lift my foot enough to ease the stress off my toe. Adding to that, the ease of cleaning them and reusing them right away make them very convenient so these are the only ones I use now. I am hoping that with time my foot will be better and I will only use them as a preventative measure. If you have high arches, these would probably be your best bet.

Great product. Stays on well. Reduced pain.
I thought these to be made well. I liked the thickness to wear in my tennis shoes and some other shoes. I am now buyingshoes with a wide toe box and then these generally fit well. Happy with this product.I love the color and the gel. They stay on well.I think this is a great product. It is better to know where to place these pads for your feet as that make a difference in how it will affect your foot.It helped to decrease my pain from great toe joint problems as it gave support for me.

hmm...
I have had a few of these and they are wonderful! So helpful with bad feet. However this time it is noticeably thicker and that makes it more difficult so I hope they go back to how they made it before, it does not need to be thicker.

Do not buy
I have been in severe pain after using 2 days. They are so thick it dislocated 2 of my toes in my left foot. DO NOT BUY this unless you love your foot Dr. I wish I could give a negative rating. Update. This was actually a stress fracture from the larger size of the product. I am just now better.

Lifesaver for sesamoid issues
These are a lifesaver for all shoes that can't accommodate my custom sesamoid -protecting orthotics (e.g., heels at weddings, cute ankle booties, casual tennis shoes that are non-athletic). I have experienced substantial inflammation reduction with these dancers pads; they are thicker than most and I find that my foot "can't get worse" when I have these on (though I know me wearing heels won't help my foot get better).I had a sesamoidectomy a few years ago after shattering my sesamoid while running, and the second sesamoid in that foot has been stressed ever since. I wear a custom cutout orthotics to protect my sesamoid in my gym shoes / work shoes, and these dancers pads in all other shoes. It's nice to have the flexibility to wear any shoes without hurting myself, given that running shoes and loafers aren't appropriate in most social situations.

Gets loose
My 11 year old daughter was so excited to use this for her sesamoid toe. After a full day of school, she said it got loose in her sock and would end up at the top of her foot inside her sock by pre athletics. Very comfortable though at beginning of day!

was 'threatening' to make me use an orthotic insert for my shoes - that of course wouldn't fit nicely into any of my existing shoes
I had a stress fracture on my tibial sesamoid. After 2 months of wearing the boot, my Dr. was 'threatening' to make me use an orthotic insert for my shoes - that of course wouldn't fit nicely into any of my existing shoes. This pad has been my savior. Gives me the confidence to be out of the boot, in my normal sneakers (haven't ventured to flats yet) and be stress and pain free. Yes, it feels a little more snug in my sneaker, but I loosened the laces a bit more and the gel cushion and I have started getting back into my exercise regimen! I actually fell off a step stool last week on the bad foot, and immediately felt the gel cushion kick into action. Turned a potentially bad situation into a non-event! My Dr. was so impressed with these pads and my confidence that he is now sharing with his other patients! I have been wearing the pad for 2 weeks straight now and haven't washed it yet and the stickiness is still going strong, but I do wear a light ped on this foot to keep the pad 'clean'. I just bought a few more packs to keep me going for the rest of the year as I continue to heal!

I have a seismoid problem and am finally done with my orthopedic boot. These pads are wonderful! They keep my foot feeling well. For excess walking I use my boot just to not overuse my footI now keep a supply of these on hand!
