The speaker box is made of a hard plastic. It's a really well made enclosure and the sound is awesome.

Q: I have a 2013 F150 that has the Sony 8" powered sub, what would i have to run to change it out with this?

You shouldn't have to change anything,rca, remote on wire ,positive and ground all the same.
