I haven't looked into it but when I compared the original windscreen to the new one I got form this dealer they were different. The foam on the original one is much finer than the new one. Because of this I don't think this one has as much noise reduction. This could be a plus or minus of course, but when I'm using my 416 outdoors I want as much as I can get. It is also slightly shorter and has a more rounded tip than the original. Maybe this is a new and improved version, but nevertheless it is different.Bottom line: It works, but I'm a little dissatisfied in the foam density difference.It came in a Sennheiser box, though the seller is Sennheiser, I am unsure to its genuineness due to its difference to the original.

Works great. Comes with 416
The screen works great. It blocks the extra noise. FYI it comes free with a 416. I ordered one and now have 2
