Haworth Fern High Performance Office Chair with Ergonomic Innovations and Flexible Mesh Back, Mushroom

This is a solidly built chair with so many options that I'm still discovering them as I grow accustomed to it. My office mates all have Herman Miller Aeron chairs, but I personally cannot stand those things. They cut off the circulation in my legs and I can't sit cross-legged in them, so I had to find something different. Do I have regrets? Yes. One is the eye-watering price, but it's about on par with what we spent on the HM chairs. I also wish I'd gone with a different color. The black is nice, but the hounds tooth pattern on the seat cushion is a bit jarring. I wish it was ALL black. I went with the black color because I was worried the other lighter colors would be susceptible to staining, but that's no fault of Haworth's. My original intention here was to give this a 4 star rating due to the absolutely insane price, but let me tell you why I didn't do that - my particular Fern chair was received with minor damage incurred during shipping. I had initially intended to return it, but decided to reach out to the manufacturer instead. They immediately sent me replacement parts to repair the damage for no charge. That kind of customer service is gold to me, so....have your extra star, Haworth. One other thing of note - if you've done your homework on this purchase, you probably were interested in the adjustable lumbar feature on the chair. I did not notice that this chair being sold on Amazon does NOT have that feature and it doesn't appear to be something that can be added after the fact. Shame on me for not noticing that. I don't know what I don't know, so I can't really speak to how that impacts the overall comfort of the chair. Without it, it's still an excellent perch from which to rest during my usual 10+ hour days in the office.

Great piece of furniture. Keeps your back and lumbar supported. Silver leaf is a neutral gray to green color that fits into most home offices. Arms pull inward for the very small spaces, as the chair with the arms pushed in can fit into a 30" wide desk perfectly.

Most comfortable office chair I have used. Several adjustment options that are easy to use and make chair more functional. Very satisfied with selection.

The important thing here is this note: "This model does not include forward tilt or an adjustable lumbar". I bought this model through their website but returned it since the lower back support was really empty with just the mesh.I got in contact with a local dealer and got one with both adjustable lumbar and forward tilt (and the multi-way arms). The 2 additional options didn't add too much to the pricing, and you can select a lot more different color options! I still got the silver leaf since it's nicest among the cheaper colors. The lumbar piece is a flexible piece of plasticy insert and really hits the right spot for me. I'm loving it after 6 months of using.

rubber on the arm wrest teared not long after getting the chair. Contacted warranty dept, they refused to send replacement arm or provide any assistance.would not recommend due to lack of quality control and poor customer service.chair itself isn't bad but lacks out of the box back support, you will need to purchase a back rest if you want decent ergonomics.

While I didn't purchase through Amazon, this is what I sit in at work and I love it. The popular Herman Miller Aeron does the same to me as mentioned by another reviewer, it cuts off circulation to my legs and causes them to fall asleep. My company was kind enough to allow me to choose the Fern, which solved this problem and I feel so much better after each day of work.

I got this chair through my work as it was the only "ergonomic" chair they could get. I'm 6'4" 210lbs. This chair kills my upper back/lower neck. It causes a burning type pain. The curve at the very top of the chair digs into my spine because it's not high enough to clear my shoulders. There also isn't much if any lower back support. I have to sit with a towel folded up to support the center of my spine and to help keep the top from digging into the bottom of my neck. The arm rests don't raise up enough and the chair itself doesn't raise up enough. If you're a tall person, this chair is going to be uncomfortable.

I am 6,2 and 350 pounds. I sit on this chair for 8 to 9 hours per day. My back never hurts nor do my legs get stiff. This is a top notch product.
