This isn't a starter fountain pen, but a step up, certainly. The carbon fiber body is attractive, and this sleek but hefty pen writes very well with a fine German nib made of stainless steel. Excellent "next step" pen.

Great fountain pen for the money. Writes well with good ink flow. Carbon fiber looks great and pen is well balanced. I would recommend this product as I use it daily.

This is the smoothest writing pen I’ve yet to use. It arrived yesterday and its already my favorite! It’s also well made, looks great and fits well in the hand. The fine nib is perfect. The threaded cap fastens with a half twist. Really nice feature!!

There's nothing really *wrong* with the Zenzoi Carbon Fiber--and a few things quite right--but it's not a pen that i love or that I'll reach for very often. I am pleased that it came with a Schmidt nib (I like Schmidts), though this was a fine and a bit scratchy. I ran it through my smoothing process and that helped a bit. I like the screw-to-post cap; no matter which way you put the cap on the back of the barrel, it always screws so the clip lines up with the top of the nib (my preferred posted cap position). But, i don't know, it's too slender, the balance is just slightly off, or something--i don't love it. But for the money, it's a good value. Might be a good starter pen to gift to a new user; it's easy to maintain and comes with a converter. It looks pretty good, sort of like a scaled down Faber-Castell Ambition. I don't regret buying it, and you probably won't either.

I’m new to this style and really am pleased with this one. Really like the fine tip oppressed to the medium tip. Excellent quality for the price and well worth it. I also own the rollerball style of this brand and really enjoy both. Get you one, or two.

I am a sucker for carbon fiber. That part is the only good part of this pen. I see claims that there is stainless steel in this pen. Only in the nib by my reckoning. The pen is small and alarmingly light weight. A screw-on cap is nice, and the pen posts very nicely as a screw-on. The pen comes with a converter and two cartridges, one blue, one black. Now to the very heart of the low rating. The manufacturer loves the Schmidt nib. Reading, they call it a calligraphy and fine, and medium. Their answer to a question about the nib is obtuse at best. Given the number of typos in the text, it's possible they can't answer correctly because of a low understanding of English. The ink does not flow! I've had many FPs over the years. I currently use six pens, ranging from a $15 Waterman up to a $600 Montblanc. All of the current pens write well. I prefer F-EF nibs. I've tried all my tricks to get the ink to flow. Nada, no luck. The price is outrageous. I would give this zero stars if I could. Not reccomended.

Bought this for an avid fountain pen collector as a gift. For someone who owns even thousand dollar fountain pens, he really appreciated the look and feel of this pen. The packaging and box added to the sophistication of the pen. The carbon fiber look stood out as well. Overall, it’s a good quality fountain pen. Makes for a great gift.

No ink converter came with the pen. It came with the first one I ordered but not with the second.

The product is not worth its cost - wrong advertising saying 5 piece set -- it is not at all a set - single piece with two ink cartridges
