This thing stores my ammo like it was made for it! I bet you could store other stuff in it too if you wanted. I was able to separate and organize all my ammo easily with these and they are a much better price and lighter than the metal cans. They fit a good amount of both loose or boxed ammo so best of both worlds I guess.

Good quality can with excellent hinges and locking levers. I mounted it on my Kioti tractor to be used as a toolbox. It is large enough to hold several large crescent wrenches, a variety of screwdrivers, pliers, and various other hand tools you may need in the field. The box has an excellent sealing gasket which is secured by good levers than press the top down perfectly, making for a dustproof and waterproof box. I added a 1/4" thick plywood floor inside the box so the mounting bolts through the box into the toolbox pan will not pull through the plastic. It worked perfectly. The price is excellent, and the shipping was fast. It should be fine as an ammo can, but I also highly recommend it as a toolbox mounted on your power equipment.

Use these for my coins, my ammo, my tools that go to specific tasks, my dog biscuits,etc. They work with anything small enough to fit.

Awesome for storage, they seal really well and they stack on each other. Main thing to look out for, is that if you fill the can all the way (in my case 1600 or so rounds of 9mm), don't walk around with it to you. Took this to a class and the handle detached from the case. No spills but still annoying. Handle didn't break and just clicked back into place like nothing happened. Just be mindful that if you fill these all the way, they should be used mainly for storage, not for transport.

Got my first 50 box 10 years ago and still going strong, a little banged up but nothing broke. Holds 1000 rds. of 5.56 with room to spare and lighter than the metal 50 cal boxes. Will the metal outlast the plastic, yes but this MTM box should be around for several decades of normal use.

Very nice and heavy duty ammo can. I use this box to hold 1000 rounds or AR15 ammo and it does the job quite well with a little space left over. At first I was unsure how durable this box would be but found it very heavy duty. It also includes a gasket in the lid so that when you close the box it becomes water proof. I have stacked these ammo boxes 4 high and they top and bottom corners of the case enable them to almost lock into each other to help them from sliding around. There is also a place to install 2 padlocks on the box in the front on the right and left side. Not too sure why one would lock a plastic box because a criminal would rather take it than empty it, maybe to keep little hands a little bit at bay. The handle has a nice and easy grip to it. You hand will not get sore carrying this box a little distance. PROS: - Heavy Duty plastic - Holds ample amounts of ammo or other items - Has rubber gasket seal on the bottom side of the lid in a grooved track to prevent water penetration - Strong double snapping clasp on front - Strong hinge system - Will accept 2 padlocks on front right/left - Comfortable handle that can take the weight of the contents - Top and bottom has notches/raise areas that allows slip-proof stacking - Have stacked 4 filled cans without damage (better to limit at 3 as 4 starts to feel unstable) CONS: - Item price appears to have gone up with popularity

If you can find these on sale they are a good value. From time-to-time I can find them on Amazon with prime shipping for half what they are at the local sporting goods store. I love supporting local but when the price difference is a 1/3rd tank of gas...yeah I order from Amazon. I have put about 40 lbs of gear in one of these things and the handle appears to hold but I recommend going no more than 25 lbs just to be sure. You don't want to drop 40 lbs of gear on your toe when the handle pops off. This is plastic construction and not steel so remember that. The box does come with a couple pre-drilled holes for locks which is a neat idea to keep little hands out of whatever you've got squirreled away in there but for real security...well it can be carried away and opened elsewhere or it can be cut open really quick given the proper tool. Pros: - Affordable when on sale and shipped with Amazon Prime - Stackable (as long as you are careful and line up the guides) - Holds a good amount of stuff...be in tools, emergency gear, range gear etc. - A great item to have to organize your stuff (I recommend you take the sticker off that says "AMMO") Cons: - Can be a little pricey if not purchased while on sale. - The handle...I don't entirely trust it when filled with dense items (like lead based items) all the way to the top - The holes for a lock are nice BUT this is plastic so it will only deter the hands of children (but that is also a pro)

I have to mention that this MTM ammo can is very good quality and a great size. The side walls are fairly straight which gives decent usable internal dimensions. I once bought a Plano at a similar size and the side walls were so weak that the top was a struggle to line up when you closed it, it had too much flex and also less internal usable dimensions. I do not see that being an issue at all with this new MTM! Looking at the carry handle, it is the only point of weakness. The way it was designed it clicks (locks) itself to the lid from the side and my feeling is with enough weight and a jolt it might come out. To explain, If you look at the picture you will see the handle can pivot only 90 degrees from the recessed area that it nests in and into the upright position. Well maybe 95 degrees if your lucky... Point being when you use the carry handle as your walking the case is being thrown side to side a little and considering the carry handle wont go past the 90-95 degree mark it jams against the lid. The way the design is the pressure created when it jams pushes the handle in the direction that could push it out of the click/lock. I have 22 pounds in this case right now and with the leverage and weight I wondered how close it might have been to letting go. I shook the case side to side with the weight in it and it was ok and never let go so this is not an issue handle feels sturdy and it means this MTM is built very well. It just could have been designed better to be completely solid and not putting leverage pressures in the areas that could cause a failure in more extreme conditions. Still a 5 star product for sure!

I love these boxes and have several. Based on the US Army's .50 calibre ammunition boxes, but in plastic by MTM. They are very well made, water resistant, and the carrying handle and locking latches are excellent. There are holes for a padlock if you want one. Among other things, I use these to keep jacking and recovery gear in my Jeep, to store my set of Japanese waterstones and other sharpening tools for my knives and axes; my fletching and arrow making tools and of course to carry ammunition to the range! They are stackable, can hold a remarkable amount of stuff and they are strong. I could not be without them.
