1000 Animals (1000 Pictures): 1 : Jessica Greenwell, Usborne Publishing Ltd: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Great book! - The 1000 animals in the book are featured in lovely accurate pictures in groups according to where they live. Each spread contains a good sample of animals but not so many to become overwhelming and there's a mix of more well known animals and unusual ones. It's much more accessible than an encyclopedia and has sturdy pages. Each animal is accompanied by its name. The animals do have googly eyes but this doesn't make them look silly. Great to see invertebrates well represented to alongside mammals, fish and birds. Loved by a two year old and think it will coming to be popular in coming years as there's so much in it. Review: Perfect if you have a toddler who loves learning animal names - This book is quite busy, there are lots of small pictures of animals on each page with the name of the animal underneath. My son has just turned 3 and loves animals, so it’s perfect for him to discover new animals and talk about ones he already knows. He’s obsessed with reptiles and there are plenty in here which you don’t normally get. Overall worth buying, he loves it.

I didn't think it was going to be this good
This is a large, sturdy book, with few board pages, each one packed with images of animals, each labelled only with the creature's name. No background, no further information to read. Nothing. Just loads (well, 1000) of beautiful small illustrations of animals, organized by habitat or by theme. I was not sure what the appeal would be for children, but we borrowed it from our local library and soon after I bought our own copy. My kids (ages 6 and 3) absolutely love it. The older goes through the pages reading every single name of the animals and the little one follows with interest. He has picked up some rather unusual animal words in the process! It is a lovely book to look at.

My 3 yr old son loved this book so much when we borrowed it from the library that we've had to get him his own in order to return the library's copy! The pictures are beautiful and rarely a day goes past without having to go through the book.

What a beautiful book.
My grandson loves animals so this book was a must. It's beautifully illustrated with so many animals I hadn't even heard or seen of before. This is for Christmas so he hasn't actually seen it yet, but as with all Usborne books it's going to be a winner.

If your kiddo is animal obsessed this is the book to have! Great quality & so many animals inside. We also have the 1000 things in nature book by Usborne. I like the illustrations in that book at little better. This one is more cartoon like, but that's just my own preference. My son loves both.
